Senior Strategist, Integrated Strategy

Job Description:

About Dentsu

We are business‑driven and creatively obsessed, helping clients grow through Transformative Creativity—creativity that solves real business problems, challenges convention, and creates meaningful impact.

About the Team

You’ll join the Dentsu Creative team supporting a leading health and convenience retailer, helping connect brand strategy and communications across pharmacy, health, wellness, and everyday retail. We are:

• Proactive leaders who set the agenda and bring energy to every engagement

• Question‑askers who push beyond the expected to find what’s interesting

• Makers and doers who turn thinking into actionable outputs

• Growth-minded teammates who seek out what they don't know as much as they do

• Radical collaborators who work fluidly across disciplines

Role and Responsibilities
This role sits within a specific business vertical for a leading health and convenience retailer, with a need to connect the dots across the broader enterprise. We’re looking for someone equally comfortable navigating a large, highly matrixed brand and rolling up their sleeves to develop scrappy thought starters, find unexpected creative angles, and resourcefully turn early thinking into something teams can build on. You will:

• Lead qualitative research, from quick cultural inputs to deeper exploratory studies.

• Develop clear, inspiring creative briefs and guide others in doing the same, translating audience insights and business priorities into actionable creative opportunities.

• Build brand frameworks, integrated communications plans, and consumer journeys.

• Define clear communications jobs to be done and channel roles across paid, owned, earned, social, digital, and in-store experiences, working with media and other specialist partners.

• Synthesize signals across data, culture, and category to give creative and client teams a clear point of view on what matters to people and how the brand can respond.

• Surface new growth opportunities and strategic value for creative and brand teams.

• Guide multi‑disciplinary teams in measurement and learning agendas.

• Provide thought leadership on culture, human behavior, and category dynamics.

• Build strong knowledge of the client’s business and competitive landscape

• Thoughtfully apply AI to sharpen strategy, speed insights, and improve output quality—while preserving a strong strategic POV and human judgment.

• Help shape awards submissions by crafting compelling case studies, defining the strategic idea and impact, and collaborating across teams to tell the story effectively.

What Success Looks Like

• Brings clarity to complexity without oversimplifying

• Stays steady and constructive when client priorities shift or briefs change mid-stream

• Builds strong, trusting relationships across diverse styles

• Helps creative teams understand not just the strategy, but how it flexes by audience, need, and channel

• Turns brand thinking into clear communications tasks that help creative and media teams build connected work

• Brings proactive ideas that help the team anticipate opportunities and strengthen the brief

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience developing integrated brand and communications strategies

• Proven track record of strong, consistent strategic ideas

• Deep understanding of how brands earn attention and trust across digital, social, and real-world experiences

• High standard for clarity, craft, and detail

• Strong storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to make strategic thinking clear and compelling for creative teams and clients

• Ability to simplify complex challenges for varied audiences

• Curious, culturally informed, insight-driven; seeks out what they don't know as much as they build on what they do

• Experience with qualitative research, social listening, trend analysis, audience data, and related tools

• Ability to map consumer journeys, define communications tasks, and identify how channels work together to influence behavior

• Seen as a trusted partner to mid‑senior clients and a supportive mentor to juniors

• We're looking for someone who will grow with the discipline as it evolves, curious about what strategy looks like in two years, not just today years and how new tools can strengthen the work

• Experience in retail, health and wellness, pharmacy, or CPG is a plus
