Royal IHC is looking for an experienced Project Manager Product Development within the Technology & Innovation department. Rather than managing traditional vessel or customer projects, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative products and technologies, taking them from concept towards successful implementation.
Working from the vision, budget and functional requirements defined by the Product Owner, you take responsibility for organising and driving the development process. Together with multidisciplinary teams, you ensure that products and technologies progress from concept and development through to successful implementation.
Because these developments can be relevant to multiple Product Market Groups and Business Units, you will work across organisational boundaries. You bring together Technology, Engineering, Product Management, Business Development and other stakeholders, creating alignment and keeping the development process moving forward.
Why this role?
- Lead innovative product and technology development projects with impact across Royal IHC.
- Help transform new ideas and technologies into practical, market-ready solutions.
- Work at the intersection of Technology, Engineering, Product Management and Business Development.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across different Product Market Groups and Business Units.
- Take ownership of the development process from concept through implementation.
- Contribute to the successful introduction and further development of Royal IHC’s products and technologies.
Your responsibilities
- Lead product development and technology projects from concept through implementation.
- Translate the Product Owner’s vision, functional requirements and business objectives into a clear development plan.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams involving engineering, technology, product and business stakeholders.
- Manage project scope, planning, budget, resources, risks and deliverables.
- Create alignment between technical, commercial and operational stakeholders.
- Identify dependencies and opportunities for collaboration across products, Product Market Groups and Business Units.
- Monitor progress and proactively address risks, issues and changes.
- Prepare and present project proposals, progress updates and decision papers to the Project Board and senior management.
- Ensure that developed products and technologies meet the required quality, performance and compliance standards.
- Drive projects towards successful implementation within the agreed scope, timeline and budget.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least three years of relevant experience in product development, technology development or technical engineering projects.
- Experience coordinating or leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills.
- Able to bring structure to technically complex development projects and keep different stakeholders aligned.
- Pragmatic, proactive and results-oriented.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
Experience within maritime, offshore, defence, aerospace, automotive or another complex engineering environment is advantageous.
Royal IHC offers you:
- A salary between €5700 and €8565 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance.
- Plenty of time off: 40 vacation days for a full-time position, with the option to buy or sell additional leave.
- A profit-sharing scheme that lets you share in Royal IHC’s success.
- Flexible working: A home office allowance of €2.45 per day + a one-time payment of €750 to set up your workspace.
- Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer for the days you commute to the office.
- A solid pension plan through PME.
- Room to grow: Numerous internal career opportunities and a training budget + access to our IHC Academy to support your development.
- Health and energy: Unlimited access to our in-house gym (in exchange for the sustainable employability day).
- Royal IHC takes care of things you’d rather not worry about, but that are still important—such as disability insurance, partner pension, and the option to have additional healthcare costs reimbursed through our Social Fund.
