This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO & Organic Growth Specialist based in India.
This is a high-impact organic growth role focused on turning SEO into a measurable acquisition channel. You will own SEO strategy end to end, from diagnosing traffic declines and improving technical foundations to optimizing revenue-generating pages. The role combines search strategy, content leadership, analytics, experimentation, and emerging AI search optimization. You will work across traditional search and AI-driven discovery, including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. Success will be measured through meaningful business outcomes such as organic signups, revenue, and acquisition efficiency rather than rankings alone. The environment values evidence-based decision-making, experimentation, clear communication, and the ability to contribute beyond a narrowly defined SEO remit.
Accountabilities:
- Diagnose organic traffic performance by analyzing page types, search intent, devices, algorithm-update timing, technical factors, content quality, SERP features, and changes in search demand.
- Develop and execute prioritized recovery plans for declining organic performance, with clear evidence supporting recommended actions.
- Optimize high-value product and tool pages by improving search intent alignment, titles, headings, content depth, internal linking, calls to action, and overall conversion potential.
- Audit and manage the content portfolio, identifying content to consolidate, refresh, or remove while establishing an ongoing process for monitoring content decay.
- Develop strategies to increase visibility in AI-generated search experiences, including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, and track visibility and share of voice across these platforms.
- Own technical SEO initiatives covering crawling and indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, templated pages, programmatic pages, and broader technical hygiene.
- Build a sustainable authority and digital PR strategy based on original research, proprietary data, and credible industry insights, avoiding manipulative link-building practices.
- Own organic performance measurement and reporting, with regular tracking of non-brand clicks, product-page traffic, organic signups, and organic revenue.
- Lead the content engine end to end, including editorial strategy, content calendars, briefs, writer and freelancer workflows, quality standards, and publishing.
- Identify and resolve keyword cannibalization using Search Console query-to-URL data and rank tracking, applying consolidation, redirects, canonicals, retargeting, and internal-linking improvements as appropriate.
- Establish safeguards to prevent future content overlap and ensure new content has a clearly defined search intent, funnel stage, and business objective.
- Contribute to broader growth initiatives such as affiliate recruitment, partner content, co-marketing, and collaborations with educators, creators, writing communities, and review platforms.
- Establish measurable milestones for the first 30, 90, 180, and 365 days, including a diagnostic and recovery plan, technical and content improvements, cannibalization cleanup, AI visibility tracking, and sustained organic growth.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading organic traffic recovery for a SaaS, software, or tool-based website following a Google core or helpful-content update, with the ability to explain the diagnosis, actions, and measurable results.
- Proven experience owning SEO outcomes tied directly to business metrics such as signups, conversions, revenue, or acquisition efficiency rather than rankings or traffic alone.
- Strong hands-on proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush, and technical SEO crawlers such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb.
- Strong understanding of search intent, technical SEO, content quality, internal linking, indexation, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and keyword cannibalization.
- Experience using GSC query-to-URL data and other analytical methods to identify competing pages and implement effective consolidation, redirects, canonicals, retargeting, or linking strategies.
- Ability to analyze SEO data deeply, identify the highest-impact opportunities, and translate findings into practical, prioritized actions.
- Experience developing and testing strategies for visibility in AI search experiences, with a preference for candidates who can demonstrate experiments and measurable findings rather than relying solely on industry opinions.
- Ability to work directly with writers and developers by producing precise briefs and requirements.
- Hands-on CMS experience, including the ability to independently implement SEO changes in WordPress or a similar platform.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and challenge assumptions using data.
- Strong ownership, analytical thinking, curiosity, and comfort operating in an environment where priorities are driven by measurable growth opportunities.
- Willingness to contribute to broader marketing and growth initiatives beyond traditional SEO responsibilities.
- Experience in EdTech, writing tools, or markets characterized by price-sensitive users and significant competition from free alternatives is an advantage.
- Programmatic SEO experience is beneficial, particularly a strategic understanding of where programmatic approaches are appropriate and where they may create quality risks.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve research, analysis, and workflow efficiency while maintaining high standards for published content.
Benefits
- Ongoing contract engagement.
- Fully remote working arrangement from India.
- Defined working hours of 12 PM–10 PM IST.
- High ownership over the organic growth strategy and measurable business outcomes.
- Opportunity to work across traditional SEO and emerging AI search optimization.
- Exposure to SaaS, digital products, content strategy, affiliate growth, partnerships, and broader marketing initiatives.
- Opportunity to work with advanced SEO, analytics, crawling, and AI-related tools.
- Strategic role with direct influence over organic acquisition, signups, and revenue growth.
