This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Snowflake Data Architect based in India.
This is a remote architecture role focused on designing and delivering a workforce intelligence platform as a Snowflake Native App. You will own the end-to-end technical architecture of a complex data platform being prepared for publication on the Snowflake Marketplace. The role spans cloud architecture, data flows, security, compliance, packaging, and release strategy, giving you broad influence over the final solution. You will collaborate with data engineering, backend, DevOps, and QA specialists to guide critical architectural decisions. A major focus will be preparing the application for Snowflake's Security Review and ensuring all documentation and controls meet Marketplace requirements. This is an opportunity to work on a technically challenging, fast-paced engagement within an AI-native technology environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design the Application Package architecture according to Snowflake Native App Framework specifications, including permission declarations, egress declarations, manifests, and the overall package structure required for Marketplace publication.
- Define a cloud-agnostic architecture strategy with an Azure-first approach while ensuring the solution can be extended modularly to AWS and GCP environments.
- Design and document the complete data flow from the desktop collector through to the customer's Snowflake environment, clearly defining encryption points, security controls, data access patterns, and permissions.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate migration tooling and approaches to support the transition from Talend to dbt and Snowflake.
- Lead preparation for the Snowflake Security Review by defining package structures, documenting data access patterns and network egress, and ensuring the architecture satisfies platform and compliance requirements.
- Own provider account setup, application versioning, and release architecture to support a reliable and maintainable Marketplace deployment.
- Produce detailed architecture diagrams and compliance documentation required for the Snowflake Marketplace listing and external technical review.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering, backend, DevOps, and QA teams to guide architectural decisions and ensure the final application meets technical, security, and delivery requirements.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience in cloud architecture, data architecture, or a closely related technical architecture discipline, with experience designing complex enterprise technology solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and strong knowledge of its platform capabilities, ideally including the Snowflake Native App Framework or Snowpark.
- Demonstrated experience producing architecture documentation for platform reviews, security assessments, compliance processes, or other external technical evaluations.
- Experience publishing or contributing to a Snowflake Marketplace application is highly valuable and will help you navigate the end-to-end requirements of the engagement.
- Familiarity with dbt, Streamlit, or Snowflake Cortex, with the ability to understand how these technologies can contribute to modern data and AI solutions.
- Experience with Talend or comparable ETL platforms, particularly in the context of migration or modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, data security, access controls, encryption, networking, and scalable application design.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create precise architecture, security, compliance, and technical documentation for external reviewers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead technical decisions across multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
