Backend Developer (Java)

We operate at scale. As part of Flutter Entertainment, we play an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.

We are serious about Tech. We are problem-solvers with big ambitions, keeping a people-first mindset at the core of our work. We prioritize flexibility as we strive to deliver the best technological products and tackle the greatest industry challenges.

Recognizing that everyone brings their own strengths, backgrounds and new perspectives, we empower you to be yourself. That uniqueness shapes the culture of belonging we are so proud of.

The role

Our Developers know their stuff – they're busy working independently and setting high standards.

As a Backend Engineer, you are part of an agile Software Development Team, responsible for the full lifecycle of an application using cutting-edge technologies to deliver amazing value to our customers, while scaling our platform to meet the demands of worldwide markets.

From developing flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to supporting the Product Owner with requirements and the team with solutions, developing unit, component, and integrated tests with the guidance of the team's QA - you can expect to execute the full software development lifecycle.

Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code to solve business needs and deploy applications in a Continuous Integration platform, as well as testing and documenting the implemented solutions will be a big part of your day-to-day.

What You'll Bring

• Our product's backend runs in Java , so a proven track record of at least 3 years working with this technology (preferably Java 8+) would be ideal - but... If you have extensive experience working with similar OOP languages, that is not a problem as the underlying concepts are similar - just know that if you join us you'll be working with Java.

• Our teams also work with technologies such as Scala, Kafka, Akka, Memcached, Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ , and some others... Ideally, you should have working experience with most/all of these but if not, don't worry - we will have your back!

We'd Like You To Master In

• Experience working with a high concurrency/high transactional/highly available platform;

• Familiarity working with Client-server protocols such as SOAP, and REST;

• Expertise using established design patterns and encouraging appropriate use of reusability techniques (e.g. library extraction, new component creation);

As a Backend Developer at Blip, it's not just about the technical knowledge. We value (a lot) a strong set of soft skills - being a team player and promoting a healthy environment within your team is just as important. This means that we'll be expecting a strong set of soft skills as well - excellent communication (in Portuguese and English), common sense, and a passion for the art of problem-solving.

This is what you should have. What do we have, you ask? Well...you can check our amazing perks & benefits right here!

So... Are you in?
