Role Purpose:
- Review market requirements and clarify use cases for next generation AXOS L3/BNG products
- Design and develop features for AXOS SSM (subscriber management module), such as DHCP server/relay, subscriber management, AAA, AGF, etc., including coding, unit-test, code review, functional test, auto-test case scripts.
- Investigate industry new technologies (FMC, SDN, network slicing, AI, Big data etc.), design and contribute to Calix end-to-end intelligent network solution (cloud -> network device).
- Read relevant industry standards, architect, and lead the technical evolution of NaaS for Calix products.
- Collaborate with Customer Support team to resolve customer issues.
- Continuously improve AXOS L3/BNG stability & scalability to help ramp ASM products in the fields.
Responsibilities:
In this highly challenging role, you will:
- Write functional and design specifications.
- Write software with a good quality.
- Provide technical leadership to keep Calix L3/BNG products aligning with industry standards and improve system performance, stability, and scalability.
- Build Calix-innovated distributed data-driven routing platform based on advanced centralized database.
- Effectively communicate your designs, ideas, and feedback to cross functional teams on technical matters.
- Write automation test cases, and perform thorough unit test, functional test, and integration test
- Conduct peer code reviews.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
Qualifications:
- BSCS (or equivalent) required, MSCS preferred.
- 3+ years of C/C++ experience in Linux embedded development preferably with telecom or datacom industry.
- Solid knowledge in BNG/BRAS, Routing protocols and access network solution.
- Hands-on experience with subscriber-access technologies (DHCP, PPPoE, etc.) is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with BNG end subscriber management, Lawful intercept (LI) and related telemetry is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with subscriber AAA (authentication, authorization, accounting) is highly desired.
- Knowledge and experience in FMC (fixed mobile convergence) is a big plus.
- Experience on multi-thread/multi-process architecture, design, and coding
- Strong in TCP/IP and Network Programming.
- Be adept at communicating and collaborating with x-functional/boundary teams.
- Strong background in designing and developing event-based / pub-sub workflow solutions.
- Strong sense of ownership, be driven to continuously improve tools, methodology and process.
- Excellent English communication skills
- Excellent skills in problem analysis and troubleshooting.
