Strong computer science fundamentals and in-depth knowledge of a major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Bash, Go, or Python.
Extensive experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using tools such as Terraform.
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to document technical designs and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic engineering environment.
Passion for improving developer productivity and experience through scalable infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering.
Pragmatic approach to technical challenges, with an emphasis on selecting appropriate technologies and leveraging existing tools rather than unnecessarily reinventing solutions.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture; understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs); familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Graphite, Grafana, Kibana, or Elasticsearch; contributions to open-source projects or communities; and production experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Kong, or Linkerd.
