Responsibilities involving professional level work in a newly created and expanded technical division. This includes travel to various locations throughout the state to conduct training and support for investigative and analytical functions of OBN along with collaboration with state, county, local, and tribal law enforcement.
The functions within this job will include but are not limited to:
Levels are distinguished based on the complexity of assigned duties, the level of expertise required for completion of work assignments, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.
· Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment;
· Possess the ability and willingness to carry a firearm and use deadly force as required;
· Must live within 37 miles of assigned duty station once hired;
· Be accessible by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with various periods of on call
status;
· Be willing to travel and occasionally be away from home for extended periods of time.
· Must be 21 years old.
· Core competences such as self-motivation, high integrity, professionalism, and the ability to meet deadlines.
· Must present a professional appearance that will represent the bureau in the public
arena.
· Selected Applicants must pass a rigid character and background investigation,
polygraph examination, pension physical and MMPI.
· Chosen candidate will not be eligible to transfer out of the their current unit or
promote higher than an Agent III.
· Per statute 63 O.S. § 2-103, as a Special Agent, you will be exempt from complaint rights through the Civil Service Division and HCM Act and considered an “at will” employee.
Have no record of a conviction of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude (70 O.S. § 3311 F. (OSCN 2025))
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics & Dangerous Drug Control has determined that some positions in this job family are safety sensitive as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8.
