Job Description

Basic Purpose

Responsibilities involving professional level work in a newly created and expanded technical division.  This includes travel to various locations throughout the state to conduct training and support for investigative and analytical functions of OBN along with collaboration with state, county, local, and tribal law enforcement.

Typical Functions

The functions within this job will include but are not limited to:

 

• Support of electronic surveillance systems.
• Administration of databases maintained by OBN and analysis of the same
• Travel to headquarters and district offices.
• Utilization of artificial intelligence systems where applicable.
• Collaboration and assistance of platforms for use in the digital extraction of evidence from digital devices.
• Assistance to agents investigating sophisticated money laundering including the use of crypto currency.
• Creation of a program at OBN that can assist other federal, state, local, and tribal public safety agencies.
• Submit training reports in ACISS as needed. 

Level Descriptor

Levels are distinguished based on the complexity of assigned duties, the level of expertise required for completion of work assignments, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies required at this level include:

• Good working knowledge of generally accepted principles and theories as they relate to cyber investigations, electronic surveillance, and use of databases for complex investigations as well as upcoming trends. 
• Ability to adhere to applicable regulations and law enforcement concepts as they pertain to the preceding paragraph.

Education and Experience requirements at this level may consist of:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Training or experience in operating and budgeting for law enforcement technical needs.
• Training or experience related to cyber investigations, electronic surveillance, support systems for electronic surveillance, digital forensic analysis, as well as instructional experience and interagency collaborations related to this experience. 

 

Special Requirements

·       Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment;

·       Possess the ability and willingness to carry a firearm and use deadly force as required;

·       Must live within 37 miles of assigned duty station once hired;

·       Be accessible by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with various periods of on call      

    status;

·       Be willing to travel and occasionally be away from home for extended periods of time.

·       Must be 21 years old.

·       Core competences such as self-motivation, high integrity, professionalism, and the ability     to meet deadlines. 

·       Must present a professional appearance that will represent the bureau in the public    

    arena.

Have no record of a conviction of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude (70 O.S. § 3311 F. (OSCN 2025))
