Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile, proactive Workplace Solutions & AV Technology Specialist to join our team at our premier 400,000 sq.ft. Class A location in Dallas. In this dynamic role, you will be a critical contributor to the backbone of our physical workspace—ensuring seamless building operations while serving as the primary subject matter expert for workplace audio-visual (AV) and collaboration technologies.
This role requires a high level of customer service and professionalism, as we support a client-driven environment both internally and externally. You will regularly interact with employees, leadership, vendors, and guests, ensuring every workspace and meeting experience reflects a high standard of service and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable diagnosing complex conference room video conferencing systems, troubleshooting digital signage networks, and performing routine building maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role requires a hands-on professional who can balance technical expertise with a strong service-oriented mindset.
Your primary objective will be to support uninterrupted day-to-day corporate operations while maintaining high-performance, client-ready meeting environments that enhance the overall workplace experience.
Role is on-site Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Audio-Visual & Technical Systems Management (60%)
Setup & Integration: Deploy, configure, test, and maintain hardware configurations for conference rooms, integrated smart boards, interactive displays, digital signage, microphones, and advanced video conferencing architectures (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms).
Rapid Incident Response: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve real-time AV infrastructure anomalies, connectivity disruptions, audio feedback/echo loops, video dropouts, and software-hardware handshaking errors during critical corporate meetings and executive events.
Infrastructure & Cable Topology: Execute precise low-voltage cabling infrastructure routes, termination, and label management (HDMI, Cat6, SDI, balanced audio lines) to ensure standard compliance and pristine server rack/conference room tidiness.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine system health-checks, firmware upgrades, patch deployments, and visual hardware inspections on all media systems, display components, and automated controllers’ campus-wide.
Vendor Ecosystem Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact for external AV integrators, specialty sub-contractors, and tier-3 original equipment manufacturer (OEM) support lines during major system deployments or hardware lifecycle modernizations.
General Facilities & Operations Maintenance (40%)
Routine Asset Repair: Execute general building maintenance tasks, including low voltage troubleshooting and general hardware adjustments.
HVAC & Building Systems: Monitor building comfort parameters, manage filter change-outs, and program localized thermostat schedules via the centralized Building Management System (BMS).
Workspace Optimization: Support physical internal logistics, including desk transitions, corporate office moves, modular furniture reconfigurations, and heavy structural furniture assembly.
Event Production Logistics: Configure physical event spaces including temporary staging, perimeter seating, presentation equipment placement, and power safety cable management.
Safety, Risk & Compliance: Perform systematic safety rounds, inspect fire extinguishers, verify emergency egress lighting systems, and ensure strict compliance with regional building safety codes and OSHA guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications & Skills
Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in commercial facility management or corporate building systems, with at least 1–2 years heavily dedicated to technical audio-visual (AV) support and infrastructure maintenance.
AV Domain Literacy: Robust knowledge of hardware signal flow topologies, matrix switchers, and control system frameworks (e.g., QSYS, Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Biamp ecosystems).
Network Foundations: Core competency in IP network architectures (understanding DHCP allocations, Wi-Fi connectivity diagnostics, and basic network switch port verification) as they intersect with AV-over-IP endpoints.
Practical Trade Dexterity: High proficiency with standard trade tools, power equipment, and specialized diagnostic instruments; clear understanding of commercial structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies.
Industry Certifications (Highly Valued): AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential highly preferred. Relevant building trade certifications, facility credentials, or an OSHA 10/30-hour certification are strong advantages.
Core Professional Attributes: Outstanding troubleshooting acumen under tight constraints, strong interpersonal communication, service-oriented attitude, and an ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for non-technical team members.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to routinely lift, carry, push, or pull facilities equipment and technical hardware up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights on ladders, automated scissor lifts, and navigating tight spatial configurations (e.g., underneath conference tables, inside drop-ceilings, or behind technical equipment racks).
Availability and willingness to adapt schedule for occasional early morning or late evening shifts to facilitate high-profile production support or execute disruptive infrastructure maintenance.
