At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, every treatment, procedure, and breakthrough in care relies on a strong team working behind the scenes to support our patients and providers.
We're looking for an experienced Specialty Medical Biller to help ensure accurate billing, reimbursement, and claim management for some of the most advanced cancer treatments available today. This role plays an essential part in supporting complex services such as Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), CAR-T therapy, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, robotic-assisted procedures, and other specialized oncology treatments.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of medical billing, insurance requirements, and claims management, along with the ability to navigate complex reimbursement scenarios while maintaining a patient-centered approach. You'll work closely with clinical, coding, revenue cycle, and operational teams to help ensure patients receive the care they need while supporting the financial sustainability of a world-renowned cancer center.
The starting annual salary for this position is $62,477 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.
What You'll Do:
As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will:
Prepare and submit complex inpatient and outpatient medical claims
Ensure accurate billing for high-cost medications, biologics, implants, and specialized oncology procedures
Review documentation, coding, and charges to support accurate reimbursement
Verify authorizations and help ensure services meet payer requirements before claims are submitted
Investigate, resolve, and appeal denied claims
Monitor payer policies and reimbursement guidelines to support compliance and billing accuracy
Manage patient and payer billing inquiries with professionalism and compassion
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce denials, and prevent revenue loss
Support audits and compliance initiatives
Partner with clinical, coding, and operational teams to optimize billing outcomes and the patient experience
What You'll Bring:
You may be a great fit if you:
Have experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle, medical claims, or reimbursement services
Understand complex insurance requirements, prior authorizations, and payer policies
Have experience working with hospital, physician, specialty, or oncology-related billing
Are comfortable reviewing medical documentation, coding, and claim details to ensure accuracy
Enjoy solving problems and investigating complex reimbursement issues
Can effectively manage multiple priorities and high-volume workloads
Communicate clearly and confidently with patients, providers, insurance representatives, and colleagues
Take pride in delivering accurate work while maintaining compliance and attention to detail
Thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork drives success
Who Will Be Successful in This Role:
The most successful candidates are analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated by making an impact behind the scenes. They understand that accurate billing is more than a financial process. It helps ensure patients have access to life-saving cancer treatments while supporting the continued advancement of cancer care.
You will excel in this position if you enjoy:
Solving complex reimbursement and claims challenges
Working with highly specialized medical services
Collaborating across departments to improve outcomes
Learning and adapting to evolving payer requirements and healthcare regulations
Contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on patient care and innovation
Why You'll Love Working Here:

When you join us, you'll find:
Meaningful work that directly supports patients and their care journey
Opportunities to contribute to a nationally recognized leader in cancer treatment and research
A collaborative culture where expertise, innovation, and teamwork are valued
Professional development and continuing education opportunities
Supportive leaders and colleagues who are committed to helping you succeed
