We're looking for a Sr. Director, Global Brand and Creative to set Pattern's global brand strategy and lead the in-house creative team bringing it to life across every market we operate in, including China and EMEA. You'll blend high-level strategy with the CMO and executive team, hands-on creative review, and social oversight — building the full-service creative organization (video, animation, and design) that keeps Pattern's voice consistent everywhere, from keynote stages to paid social. This is a full-time, founding leadership role focused on driving efficient growth, not just visibility, based onsite in Lehi, UT.
What is a day in the life of a Sr. Director, Global Brand and Creative?
- Set the global brand strategy for Pattern and lead the creative team bringing it to life across every market, including China and EMEA
- Split time between high-level strategy work with the CMO and executive team and hands-on creative review
- Build and maintain the systems and people that keep Pattern's voice consistent everywhere it shows up — keynote stages, client dinners, paid social, and direct mail
- Ensure brand and creative work is measured against efficient growth and real demand generation, not just visibility or impressions
- Own creative budgets, agency and freelance vendor economics, and headcount planning for the team
- Attract, hire, retain, and coach world-class creative talent, including the team based in Pune, India
What will I need to thrive in this role?
- A proven track record spanning both agency-side creative leadership and in-house B2B brand and creative leadership, including direct experience at a publicly traded company and comfort with the visibility and rigor of operating in the public markets
- Direct experience managing brand or creative work across multiple international markets, including familiarity with China's distinct digital and social ecosystem and EMEA market dynamics
- Exceptional writing and storytelling ability, with genuine range — equally comfortable shaping a big brand idea and sharpening the copy on the page
- A strong problem-solver, able to translate ambiguous or fast-changing business needs, including those of a senior executive team, into effective creative solutions
- Experience building or running a full-service, in-house creative team (video, animation, and design), supported by project management and offshore creative talent
- A demonstrated ability to attract, hire, retain, and coach world-class creative talent
- Fluency running brand strategy and fast-moving social content simultaneously, without letting either slip
- Ownership-level comfort with creative budgets, agency and freelance vendor economics, and headcount planning
- A performance-minded approach to brand and creative — comfortable being measured on efficient growth and demand generation, not just creative output
- Bachelor's degree required
- Willingness to work onsite in Lehi, UT and travel internationally as needed
What will make me stand out during the interview process?
- Specific, measurable outcomes driven through brand and creative work, not just the work itself
- A clear point of view on how brand and creative can drive efficient growth and demand, not just visibility
- Experience building or scaling a full-service, in-house creative team, including video and animation capabilities
- Experience that spans agency, B2B, and public-company environments, and an understanding of how that translates to a global, multi-region brand like Pattern's
- A strong portfolio demonstrating range across strategy, writing, and craft
- Experience partnering closely with demand generation, revenue, and investor relations teams
- E-commerce or marketplace industry background (Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, etc.)
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Game Changers - someone who looks at problems with an open mind, shares new ideas with team members, regularly reassesses existing plans, attaches a realistic timeline to goals, and actively pursues improvements to Pattern's processes and outcomes.
- Data Fanatics - someone who wants brand and creative decisions grounded in evidence, not just instinct, and tracks the effects of those decisions using data.
- Partner Obsessed - someone who builds brand experiences with our customers and their success in mind, clearly explains the status of projects to partners, and delivers results that exceed expectations.
- Team of Doers - someone who would rather ship great work than admire a deck about it, uplifts team members, and holds themselves accountable to the team as well as to partners.
What is the hiring process?
- Initial phone interview with a Pattern talent partner
- Video interview with the CMO
- In-person interviews with cross-functional team members and key executive stakeholders
- Portfolio and work sample review
- Background check
- Executive review
- Offer
