As a Sr. Ground Software Engineer, you will work directly with the Turion team in the planning, development, and implementation of Turion Space ground systems . You will design and architect mission-critical applications that are used throughout Turion Space. Your experience, creativity, and ambition will directly impact the way Turion Space operates as it continues to grow in scale and complexity.
### Responsibilities
* Own all aspects of the software engineering and product development
* Actively interface with users to learn their problems and create efficient solutions
* Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews
* Create new applications that improve how Turion Space operates
* Work closely with subsystem teams and external customers to continually improve software tools and data products
* Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale ground software and mission control systems, including operator GUI’s and automation tools
* Assist in leading the ground software teams
### Qualifications
* Minimum Qualifications:
* BS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
* 6+ years of software development experience
* Experience in full-stack development
* Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software from scratch
* Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
* Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Programming experience in Go, Python, or Javascript
* Experience designing and building micro-services and distributed systems
* Experience with Kubernetes
* Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Batch, Lambda)
* Experience with Jira or other defect-tracking software
* Experience building complex systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
* Experience with data engineering and managing large-scale data pipelines
