Position Summary:
As a Senior Industrial Engineer, you will effectively provide Capacity Planning, Process Simulations, and Industrial Engineering support by focusing on improving product quality, availability & cost in a high volume, high mixed production environment. You will collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization including Operational Excellence, Engineering, Supply Chain and Logistics to optimize workflow and processes.
Position Responsibilities:
• Complete required training (e.g. cGMP, safety and work instructions, etc.) within a stipulated time frame.
• Execute any tasks strictly following cGMP, Quality, Safety and Work instruction requirements.
• Ensure employees follow safety, quality requirement and all applicable company policies at all times.
• Timely report/ escalate any concerns (work related or personal).
• Meet daily work schedule and performance expectation set up by Superiors.
Capacity Planning
• Competent to develop, enhance & maintain capacity planning models (man, tool and space) to meet business targets and optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs.
• Review systems and methods to continually improve plans so that the organization can better anticipate customer needs.
Assess existing capacity and draw up forecasts based on future plans for demand.
• Analyze specifications and capacity and undertake appropriate calculations to estimate job requirements, in terms of labor, tools, materials and resources.
• Continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes and unforeseen circumstances.
Process Simulation
• Competent to create, enhance & maintain process simulation model which meets business targets and optimizes manufacturing efficiency and costs.
• Support improvement projects by using process simulation tools.
Improvement work
• Able to lead a small project and implement improvements within a team.
• Lead team and generate report for long term capacity requirements.
Industrial Engineering
• Drive implementation of Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing practices to improve overall facility effectiveness including productivity, schedule adherence, inventory, scrap, and employee engagement.
• Conduct process mapping, time study, analysis and modeling, optimization of the procedures, shop floor layout and operations and improving process efficiency and effectiveness in an efficient and professional manner.
• Apply industrial engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to assist with creation and implementation of processes to improve supply chain operations, to achieve cost reduction and on-time deliveries and to enhance scheduling performance.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement & lean production projects.
• Meet daily work schedule and performance expectation set up by Superiors.
• Able to take on additional tasks or responsibilities when required.
• Be a role model for Industrial Engineer 1 & 2.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering or equivalent field of study
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a high volume, high tech, disposable or consumable production environment.
• Experience in project management and/or layout planning.
• Highly proficiencient in Microsoft Excel skills and statistics knowledge.
• Extremely good data analysis skills and a logical approach to problem solving.
• Strong knowledge and experience in AutoCAD 2D and Simulation Tool (FlexSim or SimCad or AnyLogic) with coding ability (Python, C++, etc) to navigate such tools.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, Quality, work safety instructions & practices.
• Lean Six Sigma or equivalent credentials in operational excellence are preferred.
• GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 standard trained preferred.
• Ability to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• High level of discipline and integrity.
• Ability to undertake multiple tasks and undergo job rotation/ cross training.
• When required, able to work in noisy environment with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
• When required, able to work in chemical environment with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
• Possess a positive attitude and sense of urgency.
• Meticulous, keen attention to details and organized.
