This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Manager Client Technology based in India.
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of Cloud Platform Engineers responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure. You will combine people management with hands-on technical oversight, ensuring high-quality Kubernetes operations and Terraform automation. Working closely with senior platform experts across international teams, you will help maintain architectural consistency and enforce engineering best practices. You will oversee workload planning, technical reviews, delivery priorities, and team performance while ensuring that progress reporting accurately reflects actual system and repository states. This position offers the opportunity to influence platform reliability, strengthen automation practices, and build engineering capabilities in a collaborative, distributed environment. If you enjoy balancing technical leadership with team development and operational excellence, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.
Lead and manage India-based Cloud Platform Engineers, overseeing workload allocation, prioritization, day-to-day execution, performance management, and team development.
Review and validate Terraform modules, Kubernetes configurations, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) changes to ensure technical correctness, maintainability, compliance with established standards, and production readiness.
Establish and enforce engineering workflows, including issue-based tracking, work triage, prioritization, work-in-progress limits, and regular status updates.
Provide senior leadership with accurate, evidence-based progress reports verified against actual infrastructure, system configurations, and repository activity.
Collaborate with Principal and Expert Platform Engineers across regions to align implementation with established platform architecture, GitOps practices, Terraform standards, and AKS conventions.
Identify and escalate technical challenges, delivery risks, and operational concerns proactively to support timely resolution and predictable execution.
Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and skills development, particularly in Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices.
Apply established security controls and policy-as-code standards, using Kyverno or equivalent tools, to ensure infrastructure changes meet platform governance requirements.
At least 5 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related technical field, including previous people-management or formal technical-lead responsibilities.
Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, ideally Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), with the ability to independently review cluster configurations and workload changes and identify potential issues.
Practical experience with Terraform, including reviewing modules for correctness, reusability, maintainability, and compliance with documented engineering standards.
Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD, Flux, or equivalent, with a strong commitment to managing infrastructure and cluster changes through version-controlled workflows.
Proven experience directly managing engineers, including performance development, workload planning, prioritization, and day-to-day team coordination.
Strong reporting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to provide senior stakeholders with accurate, verifiable updates on technical progress and delivery risks.
Working knowledge of policy-as-code solutions such as Kyverno, Open Policy Agent (OPA), Gatekeeper, or equivalent technologies.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound technical judgment, and the ability to balance operational execution with people leadership.
Experience managing geographically distributed or offshore engineering teams reporting to leadership in another region is an advantage.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and their practical application in everyday engineering workflows is preferred.
Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, or equivalent is beneficial.
Experience modernizing legacy automation, including PowerShell-based workflows, into Terraform-driven or platform-native solutions is an additional advantage.
Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and qualifications.
Comprehensive employee benefits, with specific healthcare and coverage details to be confirmed during the recruitment process.
Flexible working arrangements within a remote-friendly role based in India.
A collaborative, supportive work environment that encourages initiative, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
Opportunities to strengthen technical expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes, and modern engineering practices.
Access to learning opportunities and career development in a diverse, international business environment.
Long-term organizational stability combined with the autonomy to contribute ideas, improve engineering processes, and make a meaningful impact.
A people-focused culture that values curiosity, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive approach to work.
