Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Aeronautical - Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyst Lead (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role can be located in Melbourne, FL; El Segundo, CA; or San Diego, CA.
In this role you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for all program activities related to Aerodynamic Design & Analysis, Air Vehicle Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Air Vehicle Performance. You will also oversee the Aerodynamics team’s wind tunnel test campaign, including determination of requirements, fabrication plans, facility coordination, and deconfliction with test plans from Propulsion and Weapons Integration.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Run 6DOF trajectory analysis
Analyze acoustic data for open cavities from wind tunnel or CFD measurements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Professional experience with creation, running, and/or analyzing multibody model CFD simulations.
Demonstrated experience with aerodynamic fundamentals and CFD techniques.
Onsite experience with wind tunnel testing and data acquisition systems

Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
