About The Opportunity
Grubhub is seeking a technically fluent Staff Product Manager to lead strategy and execution for the data, reporting, and insight layer that helps merchants understand their performance and take action to grow their business. This role owns building a trusted, reliable foundation of merchant data and translating it into clear, actionable surfaces for merchants and partners. You'll work closely with data engineering, analytics, and merchant-facing product teams, and will need comfort driving alignment on data definitions and infrastructure across a range of internal systems.
The Impact You Will Make
Product Strategy & Roadmap:
Define and drive product strategy, vision, and roadmap, anchored on a reliable, trusted foundation of merchant data
Identify and size opportunities where better data, visibility, or recommendations reduce merchant friction and improve trust in the platform
Balance near-term improvements with the foundational data investments required to scale
Synthesize input from merchants, sales, support, engineering, and data teams into a clear, prioritized roadmap
Product Development & Execution:
Lead execution across multiple workstreams spanning data infrastructure, financial transparency, operational reporting, and proactive merchant recommendations
Partner with data engineering to define data contracts, schemas, and pipelines that support merchant-facing and internal reporting needs
Work with design and merchant success to translate data into clear, actionable surfaces for merchants and consumable interfaces for partners
Manage technical and business dependencies across data, platform, and merchant-facing teams
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, analytics, merchant product and design, solutions consultants, and merchant success
Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and internal stakeholders across sales, revenue operations, and support, acting as the primary PM voice for merchant data and intelligence
Communicate complex technical and data concepts clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
Define and track KPIs that measure data quality, reporting adoption, and the impact of merchant-facing recommendations
Use data to identify sources of merchant friction or confusion and measure the impact of product changes
Build dashboards and run experiments to validate which product changes drive merchant engagement and trust
Establish feedback loops with support, sales, and merchant success to surface and triage issues quickly
What You Bring to the Table
5+ years of relevant product management experience in an Agile environment
Experience owning data-intensive, analytics, or reporting products — comfort untangling complex, siloed data sources is essential
Demonstrated ability to design and drive adoption of a unified data foundation across siloed systems, with measurable before/after outcomes
Comfort partnering with data engineering on schemas, pipelines, and data contracts, and translating that work into merchant-facing value
Data fluency and demonstrated data-driven decision making, including experience with SQL, dashboards, and A/B testing
Technical acumen including familiarity with APIs and reporting infrastructure; ability to work closely with engineers on complex systems and communicate technical specifications clearly
Experience collaborating across technology, operations, sales, and external partners
Ownership mentality with a track record of high-quality execution and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create clarity through strong written and verbal communication
Experience in food delivery, restaurant technology, or two-sided marketplace platforms is a plus
Experience building recommendation systems, or working closely with data science on similar problems, is a plus
