About Faire
Faire is a technology wholesale platform built on the belief that the future is local. Independent retailers around the globe collectively represent a multi-hundred-billion-dollar wholesale market that has historically been fragmented and offline. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.
We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.
About this role
We’re looking for a high-agency Strategic Finance Lead to own financial and strategic analysis supporting one of Faire’s most exciting new investment areas: Fulfillment and the innovative new buying experience it powers, Faire Source.
Why Fulfillment? Faire is the AI-powered technology platform modernizing wholesale, connecting 500,000+ independent retailers with more than 100,000 brands around the world. Two things cap how much those retailers buy from us: shipping cost and per-brand order minimums. They are the top two reasons retailers don't order more on Faire: a retailer either over-buys to clear a minimum, or skips the order entirely. Faire Source is a new buying experience that removes both via a single cart order minimum shared across every participating brand, with universal free shipping. The result: retailers, brands and Faire all become more competitive with Faire Source driving incremental growth and profitability.
You’ll drive mission-critical work end to end – from unit economics and scenario modeling to executive-ready narratives and partnership with Product, GTM, Business Development, and Operations. This role is central to how we scale fulfillment from zero to one: making disciplined tradeoffs on cost-to-serve, network economics, and partnerships so we improve service for brands and retailers while de-risking long-term financial outcomes.
Capital and operational efficiency both matter at Faire, but fulfillment is increasingly where scale, customer experience, and P&L intersect. The Finance & Strategy team helps ensure we invest with clarity – linking strategy to numbers and turning complexity into decisions that leadership can act on. As Strategic Finance Lead, Fulfillment, you will conduct the financial and strategic analysis that informs how Faire optimally invests in scaling and improving fulfillment and logistics. That includes deep scenario modeling and a firm grasp of the building blocks of our unit economics, so we can iterate confidently as the fulfillment operation grows.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, highly collaborative, data-driven environment and wants to work closely across functions - with outsized impact on how the marketplace delivers for customers.
Salary Range
San Francisco and New York City: the pay range for this role is $164,000 to $225,500 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
