Overview
Seeking a Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience in construction supervision and structural engineering for large-scale, mission-critical developments, including data centers. The role will be responsible for overseeing structural works, ensuring compliance with design requirements, quality standards, and seamless coordination with civil, architectural, and MEP disciplines throughout project delivery.
Your role
- Supervise structural construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Inspect reinforced concrete works including foundations, pile caps, slabs, columns, beams, and structural walls.
- Review and monitor structural steel fabrication, erection, welding, and bolting activities.
- Verify installation of equipment plinths, steel platforms, equipment supports, and housekeeping pads for critical data center infrastructure.
- Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems.
- Review and assess MEP penetrations through structural elements to ensure structural integrity and compliance with approved designs.
- Monitor builders' works associated with cable trays, pipe supports, equipment foundations, and service openings.
- Conduct site inspections, witness testing activities, and maintain QA/QC inspection records.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests related to structural works.
- Identify construction defects, non-conformities, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
- Ensure all structural works comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to resolve technical and interface issues.
- Monitor contractor progress and report on structural work status, risks, and potential delays.
- Support testing, commissioning readiness reviews, snagging inspections, and project handover activities.
- Prepare inspection reports, site observation reports, NCRs, and technical recommendations for project management and clients.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. UPDA/MMUP Grade A
- Data Center Experience [ at least 1 project is delivered in the last 5 years] is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Structural works supervision, concrete/steel inspection, MEP penetrations, equipment plinths, supports, builders' works, structural interfaces and QA/QC inspection records.
