Through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program, GDIT offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on training and professional experience as a System Administrator Fellow, supporting mission-critical IT infrastructure and operations within a secure enterprise environment at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska.
Transform your technical knowledge into operational impact as a System Administrator Fellow with GDIT. In this Fellowship, you will gain exposure to enterprise systems administration, security-focused operations, infrastructure monitoring, and operational support activities within a dynamic government environment.
At GDIT, people are our differentiators. As a System Administrator Fellow, you will learn how enterprise systems are administered, monitored, secured, and maintained to support customer operations. Working alongside experienced Systems Administrators and IT professionals, you will gain practical experience supporting user and group administration, system security, monitoring and analysis activities, incident management processes, and infrastructure operations. You will be exposed to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies, IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, systems monitoring platforms, security compliance activities, and operational documentation standards used within secure environments.
This Fellowship provides meaningful exposure to real-world IT infrastructure operations, cybersecurity support functions, troubleshooting processes, and enterprise service delivery practices. Fellows will develop technical, analytical, and professional skills through mentorship, hands-on learning opportunities, collaboration with technical teams, and participation in mission-focused operational activities.
This Fellowship is designed to build the technical and operational readiness needed for future employment as a full-time System Administrator within GDIT's mission-focused programs.
