The Surface Radars & Sensors Center seeks talented system engineers who are interested in ocean engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI, team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform underwater acoustics analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions.

This position is an onsite role in Portsmouth, RI.  

What You Will Do  

• Conduct data analysis, such as acoustics, radar and sonar data, using tools such as MATLAB  
• Perform requirements analysis, development and management 
• Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities 
• Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders 

Qualifications You Must Have  

• Bachelor’s degree in degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
• Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.) 

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer 

• Experience with tools, such as MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation 
• Experience with or exposure to naval undersea and/or naval surface platforms

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
