Hybrid
Weekday (YC W21) · Bangalore, Hybrid · Full-time · ₹6–10 LPA · 6 days work week
Weekday is an AI-powered hiring platform backed by Y Combinator, helping startups across India and the US find and hire great talent. We're a growing team, and we want our own people's experience to be as good as the one we help others build.
We're looking for a hands-on people person to run the day-to-day of our people function and our Bangalore office. You'll get the operational details right every time. You'll also handle the human moments, like joining, exits, and farewells, with care and good judgement. You'll fix what's broken in our people processes and build simple systems that scale as we grow.
People operations: Own the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, documentation, records, leave and attendance, and exits.
Payroll: Own monthly payroll and compliance, including inputs, reconciliations, and employee queries.
People moments: Make onboarding, offboarding, and farewells thoughtful member experiences, not just checklists.
Internal hiring: Interview candidates for roles we hire internally, and help keep our interview process fair and consistent.
Office experience: Keep the Bangalore office running smoothly, and make it a pleasant, welcoming place for anyone who works from it.
Process building: Spot gaps in our people processes and close them with clear, lightweight systems.
0–3 years in HR operations, people ops, or a similar role
Exposure to payroll and statutory compliance in India (PF, ESI, PT, TDS) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy
Warmth, discretion, and good judgement in sensitive conversations
Comfort assessing candidates; prior interviewing experience is a plus
An ownership mindset: you see a problem and fix it without waiting to be asked
Comfort with Google Workspace; bonus if you like automating repetitive work
You'll get real ownership early and room to grow into a broader people role as Weekday scales.
