Tax Analyst

At Catawiki, tax is more than compliance. As we continue to grow internationally, tax plays an increasingly important role in improving our buyer and seller experience, enabling business decisions, managing risk and supporting sustainable growth.

We're looking for a Tax Analyst who combines strong technical tax expertise with a pragmatic business mindset. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on tax work and strategic involvement. You'll work closely with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams to embed tax into business decision-making, while supporting robust compliance, effective risk management and the continued development of a scalable, technology-enabled tax function.

You won't just manage tax obligations—you'll help embed tax into business decision-making and shape how the function supports Catawiki's continued growth.

Whether you're looking to broaden your experience beyond a specialist advisory role or deepen your expertise within an international business environment, this role offers exposure across all major tax disciplines while working closely with business stakeholders.

About the role

You will support and further develop Catawiki's tax function across three key areas:

Tax Compliance & Reporting

• Manage direct and indirect tax compliance processes;
• Coordinate with external advisors and tax authorities;
• Prepare and review tax provisions and tax reporting under IFRS;
• Support tax audits, inquiries and controversy processes;
• Monitor tax law developments and assess their business impact.

Tax Risk Management & Business Partnering

• Identify, assess and manage tax risks and opportunities across the organisation;
• Design and maintain a robust tax control framework;
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams on business initiatives;
• Support international expansion projects and new business models;
• Contribute to the development and execution of Catawiki's tax strategy.

Tax Technology & Process Improvement

• Drive automation and digitisation of tax processes;
• Support implementation and optimisation of tax technology solutions;
• Improve data quality, controls and reporting capabilities;
• Leverage analytics and AI tools to enhance tax insights and efficiency;
• Design standardised and scalable tax processes that support growth.

What you’ll do (Your Core Tax Responsibilities)

• Managing direct tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing obligations across multiple jurisdictions;
• Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting cycles;
• Maintaining tax documentation, controls and governance frameworks;
• Supporting tax audits, inquiries and regulatory reviews;
• Advising stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions and strategic initiatives;
• Supporting international expansion projects and new business models;
• Driving improvements in tax processes, systems and reporting capabilities;
• Contributing to tax technology, automation and data initiatives.

You will gain broad exposure across all major tax disciplines and play an important role in ensuring tax supports Catawiki's continued growth.

What makes this role exciting?

• Broad exposure: Work across corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, tax accounting and tax technology.
• Strategic impact: Influence business decisions, international growth initiatives and the development of Catawiki's tax strategy.
• Business partnering: Work closely with Finance, Legal, Product and Commercial teams and see the direct impact of your advice on business decisions.
• Ownership & growth: Take responsibility for key tax processes and projects while helping further develop a scalable and future-ready tax function.
• Innovation: Drive automation, analytics and AI adoption within tax and help shape how technology supports the function.

Because we are growing fast, your scope will continue to evolve and we are looking for someone who's excited to grow with it.
