Team Lead, Technical Writing

Who we seek:
We are seeking an innovative, AI-first Technical Writer to lead, empower, and scale our technical documentation team. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, you will drive the vision and execution for end-to-end technical content across our enterprise product line while leveraging AI technology to automate and streamline the technical writing workflow.

What you'll do:

• Drive AI Process Automation: Pioneer an AI-first culture by identifying, evaluating, and integrating AI tools and LLM workflows into the technical writing lifecycle to automate content creation, updates, and localization.
• Lead & Manage: Mentor, hire, and manage a team of technical writers, fostering a collaborative, continuous-learning, and accountability-driven culture.
• Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the VP of Product Management, Engineering teams, and Product Operations to ensure documentation roadmaps seamlessly align with product releases.
• Quality & Governance: Establish clear standards, AI usage guidelines, and editorial processes to ensure high technical accuracy, readability, and brand consistency.
• Metrics & Optimization: Define success metrics for technical content (e.g., ticket deflection, search conversion, completion rates) to continually refine content quality and operational productivity.

What you’ll bring:

• Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience in technical writing within B2B SaaS or enterprise software, including years directly managing a team of technical writers.
• AI-First Mindset: Demonstrated experience applying AI tools, automated content pipelines, or prompt engineering to enhance and accelerate technical documentation processes.
• Product & Technical Acumen: Ability to translate complex software architecture, enterprise data structures, and APIs into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven experience collaborating directly with Product Management leadership to prioritize and deliver high-impact documentation projects.
• Operational Excellence: Strong track record in defining documentation strategies, establishing style guides, and managing multi-project deliverables in agile environments.

Advantages:

• Experience with modern documentation, visualization, and media tools such as Doc360, Napkin, Synthesia, Snagit, and Bump.
• Direct domain knowledge in data security, data privacy, compliance, or AI data management platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Docs-as-Code methodologies (Git, Markdown, CI/CD integration).
• Experience managing global or distributed technical writing teams in high-growth startup settings.
