Technical Lead, External and Scientific Engagement

Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead / Software Engineering Lead with a strong software development and cloud computing background to help us shape and deliver the platforms behind our External and Scientific Engagement products that surface scientific insights, clinical-study information, and trusted medical knowledge to our field medical teams and the wider scientific community.

You will lead a team of software engineers and own the technical vision for your product area, as part of a product team focused on technology and process innovation. You will set technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and be the senior technical voice that business and architecture partners rely on.

This role is central to turning complex scientific and clinical-study information into products people trust and use. Bringing in information from internal and external sources, transforming and harmonizing it to meet quality and regulatory expectations, and delivering it through modern, secure, cloud-native applications. Ultimately accelerating how scientific knowledge reaches the people who act on it, in service of patients.

Must haves

• Extensive software development experience, with a track record of leading delivery
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner and to set direction for others
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgement under ambiguity
• Deep experience with deployments and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Expertise in cloud computing technologies and platforms, including architecting cloud-native solutions
• Solid understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring engineers and owning the technical direction of a product or area

Nice to haves

• Experience with modern data platform and AI/ML concepts and technologies
• Vendor and partner management skills
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with GxP validations, particularly in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
• Experience working in a product team
• Experience setting technical strategy across multiple teams or stakeholders

Your responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and roadmap for your product area, working closely with product managers and architecture
• Lead a team of software engineers to deliver innovative technology solutions and maintain a secure and modern technology landscape
• Assess current solutions and develop roadmaps that enhance business value and reduce technical risk
• Ensure product solutions align with experimentation, human-centered design, and agile principles
• Collaborate with product managers to clarify technical and business requirements for effective sprint planning
• Manage vendor and partner relationships within your area, holding them to technical and delivery standards
• Demonstrate non-authoritative leadership with the team and foster strong partnerships with business stakeholders
• Share knowledge and mentor engineers in technical design and architecture, growing the technical capability of the team
