Job Description:
POLITICO is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to design and deliver new tools and features for AgencyIQ by POLITICO, a policy-driven product for regulatory professionals in the life sciences, food, and chemicals sectors.
AgencyIQ combines expert research, data, and software tools for regulatory professionals in the life sciences, food, and chemicals industries. This Technical Product Manager will shape AgencyIQ’s roadmap and help the product team move from customer insight to working solutions faster. The role spans product innovation (including the development and roll-out of AI-driven tools), commercial strategy, and technology execution—driving measurable growth in subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention across both product lines.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capabilities with a proven ability to translate subscriber insights into product roadmaps that deliver commercial results, partnering closely with research, editorial, technology, data, and commercial teams.
Who You Are
- You are a highly user-centric product manager with a strong track record of translating research, data, and market insight into clear roadmaps and measurable business impact.
- You are comfortable with both customer discovery and hands-on technical work. You can test an idea with users, understand how it fits into a subscription product, and collaborate with engineers on APIs, data flows, security, and deployment.
- You enjoy enabling others by creating repeatable processes that make the whole team more effective.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own and prioritize a roadmap for AgencyIQ features and workflows, balancing customer value, commercial impact, technical feasibility, and engineering capacity.
- Interview customers and prospects; analyze usage, feedback, market developments, and competitors; turn findings into clear product requirements, experiments, and defined KPIs.
- Partner with research, commercial, design, and engineering teams to improve acquisition, engagement, expansion, and retention of customers across the market segments we serve.
AI-Assisted Prototyping and Technical Enablement
- Design and roll out a repeatable workflow that lets nontechnical product managers use approved AI coding tools, such as Codex or Claude Code, to build and test feature prototypes and data collection tools.
- Work with POLITICO’s engineering and design teams to create reusable templates and documentation that adhere to company standards and connect to POLITICO systems through approved access paths.
- Align new templates and workflows with the tooling, policies, and procedures established by POLITICO’s engineering and operations teams.
- Define how prototypes are evaluated with users, reviewed by engineers, and either hardened for release or retired.
- Build representative prototypes yourself and coach other product managers through the workflow, and improve it based on where they get stuck and what engineers need for an efficient handoff.
- Create reusable evals for prototypes and AI-enabled features, using representative regulatory tasks, expected results, and clear quality thresholds. Run them as designs change and use the results to guide engineering review and release decisions.
Regulatory Data and Delivery
- Scope and prototype reliable ways to collect public data from government sources in the United States, Europe, Japan, and other global jurisdictions using official APIs or structured feeds where available and compliant scraping where appropriate.
- Partner with research and engineering on source provenance, data quality, parsing, change detection, monitoring, and maintainability so promising data prototypes can become dependable product capabilities.
- Write clear specifications, make trade-offs visible, coordinate delivery to make the most of limited engineering capacity, and measure whether shipped features improve customer outcomes.
What You'll Need
- 3+ years of product management experience delivering B2B software or data products, with evidence of strong product judgment and measurable customer or business results.
- Hands-on ability to prototype with modern AI coding tools and enough working knowledge of code, APIs, databases, and software delivery to assess output and collaborate credibly with engineers.
- Experience designing usable product workflows from interviews, usability tests, feedback, and behavioral data; fluency in product metrics and prioritization.
- Experience working with engineering on technical requirements, integrations, testing, and release processes; sound judgment about security, data access, and where human review is necessary.
- Ability to teach technical practices to colleagues with different backgrounds and to communicate decisions clearly to commercial, research, technology, and senior leadership teams.
- Familiarity with Python or JavaScript, SQL, web data collection, cloud development environments, CI/CD, and API-based integrations.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in information services, regulatory intelligence, or another B2B subscription business that combines expert content, structured data, and software.
- Knowledge of public regulatory sources or the needs of regulatory affairs, policy, legal, or scientific users.
- Knowledge of the U.S. capital markets—namely public equities and the institutions that trade them
COMPENSATION: $125,000 - 135,000 Annual Base. The final salary offered will be based on factors including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.

About Us.
POLITICO illuminates the forces shaping global power. Since 2007, we have delivered intelligence that anticipates tomorrow's headlines, not reports on yesterday's news. As politics has increasingly become the defining force of our era, our work has never been more vital.
Cabinet secretaries and Ministers start their mornings with our analysis. CEOs shape strategy around our reporting. Advocacy leaders rely on our insights to move policy. We deliver the straightforward facts and clear-eyed analysis they need to navigate the most complex political landscape of our lifetimes.
Our 1,100+ publishing professionals across the world's key democratic capitals—Washington, Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Sacramento, and New York—form the world's premier politics and policy newsroom. We tell the story of how power really works by explaining who wields it and how they plan to exercise it, connecting dots others miss and delivering scoops from sources others don't even know exist.
Innovation has always been a core tenet of our story. At launch, we bet that depth would trump scale, that talent would trump traffic, and that politics would become central to modern life. In 2011, we made another bet and launched POLITICO Pro to help decision-makers understand the business of government, transforming both how they shape government action and the business of journalism itself.
These bets have made POLITICO the most successful digital news startup of its generation and the indispensable resource for leaders who shape the future. Today, we are a rarity in media: a growing, profitable, and sustainable news organization.
POLITICO is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE, a family-owned transatlantic media company headquartered in Berlin and New York. Axel Springer is dedicated to shaping the future of journalism in the free world, believing that a free and informed society is essential to democracy.
