Position Summary
You will lead and shape application services for a key area within GSK in India. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver reliable, secure, and user-friendly services. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of application services, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into service requirements and practical roadmaps.
- Oversee vendor and service provider relationships to ensure timely, high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Drive continuous improvement in service performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Ensure services meet security, compliance and audit requirements; maintain service documentation and runbooks.
- Mentor and grow a small team of engineers and service leads, fostering collaboration and a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own service performance and delivery metrics for your application portfolio.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve major incidents and prevent recurrence.
- Manage resource planning, budgeting inputs, and forecasting for service delivery.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on upgrades, integrations and technical debt reduction.
- Define and enforce operational processes and standards for configuration, backups and monitoring.
- Lead stakeholder communications, monthly service reviews and executive updates.

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in IT application support, service management, or operations.
- Proven experience managing application services or IT services in a complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of incident, problem, change and release management practices.
- Experience managing vendors and third-party service providers.
- Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with stakeholders across levels.
Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus
- Experience with cloud-based application support and public cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and automation for monitoring and observability.
- Exposure to security and compliance frameworks relevant to regulated industries.
- Experience working in matrixed, global teams and with distributed delivery models.
- Hands-on experience with scripting or basic automation (for example Python, shell).
- Prior people management experience and a track record of coaching team members.
Work Arrangement
- This role is hybrid. You will be based in India and expected to work from an office regularly, combined with remote working as agreed with your manager.
