Underground utility work takes skill, judgment, and a willingness to take ownership of difficult jobs. At Delco Storm & Sewer, our technicians solve the problems homeowners cannot afford to ignore—from failed sewer laterals to damaged water services.
We’re looking for an Underground Utility Technician to install and repair residential sewer laterals and water service lines using both traditional trenching and trenchless methods. - Identify utility conflicts, site conditions, and access concerns before work begins.
- Operate excavation, compaction, cutting, pumping, and trenchless equipment safely.
- Set grades, make pipe connections, test completed systems, and confirm proper operation.
- Restore excavated areas, including backfilling, compaction, and site cleanup.
- Protect customer property and maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
- Follow trench safety, confined-space, utility-marking, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Maintain assigned tools, equipment, materials, and vehicle inventory.
- Communicate job progress, material needs, and unexpected field conditions promptly.
- Work closely with crew leaders, plumbers, equipment operators, and office staff.
- Participate in required safety meetings, technical training, and company meetings.

- Ability to read basic measurements, follow grades, and understand jobsite layouts.
- Commitment to safe work practices and proper trench protection.
- Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Professional communication and respect for customers and their property.
