The Opportunity:
- CACI is seeking an Unmanned Systems (UxS) and Emerging Threat Innovation Analyst.
- Bridge the gap between intelligence collectors and customers to prioritize collection and disseminate technical intelligence on UxS and RF threats.
- Dive deep into the reverse engineering of IEDs, remote firing circuitry, and UAS electronics, producing schematic-level characterizations.
- Design, build, test, and maintain prototype countermeasure systems using COTS technology, microcontrollers (Arduino), and embedded C++.
- Research and characterize complex RF signals, such as Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS), to inform Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) mitigation.
- Craft compelling technical products, white papers, and device-capability reports used by engineering and intelligence communities.
- Create and deliver customized classroom and field training for DoD, Law Enforcement, and partner forces on Counter-UxS tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).
- Apply electrical theory and utilize CAD/Mechanical design tools (Fusion, SolidWorks) to support engineering design decisions and system evaluations.
Responsibilities:
- As a UxS and Emerging Threat Innovation Analyst, you'll be the critical link between technical intelligence and tactical application, supporting DOW Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), special operations, and many other military organizations.
- You'll handle the advanced characterization of recovered electronic devices and unmanned threats.
- This role demands a unique blend of hardware engineering, firmware knowledge, and extensive field experience to accelerate innovation development for defense applications.
- You'll coordinate directly with intelligence customers, generate technical exploitation reports, and respond to complex analytical requirements.
- Be prepared to maintain prototype equipment, provide mission support, conduct large-scale training events, and field your capabilities in electronic warfare and RF analysis applications.
- When not in the lab, you'll dive into cutting-edge training exercises, developing hands-on lab exercises and field scenarios supporting US and Partner forces.
- You'll also have the exciting opportunity to collaborate with top-tier engineering teams, contributing your tactical EOD background and embedded systems expertise to advanced prototype development.
- This hands-on experience will sharpen your skills and prepare you to defeat the emerging autonomous and RF threats that await in the field.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience or associate degree and 5 years of experience or a high School diploma and 6 years of experience.
- 20+ years of military/defense contracting experience in electronics, RF, UxS, and EOD.
- Expertise in electronic schematic design, PCB troubleshooting, and circuit characterization.
- Proficiency in embedded programming (C++) and hardware prototyping (Arduino, microcontrollers).
- Understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW)/Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) fundamentals and Radio Frequency (RF) analysis.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering technical training to large, diverse audiences.
Desired:
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and UxS/IED threat mitigation.
- Familiarity with mechanical design and fabrication tools (Fusion, SolidWorks, Carbide Create).
- Background in complex electromechanical systems troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to author extensive technical intelligence products and white papers on emerging signal threats.
