Overview
As a Development Lead on the Whole Loans Trading Technology team, you will partner closely with the Trading Desk, Operations, and downstream teams to maintain and evolve critical platforms such as WLTS and LIPS. You will lead innovation and drive the adoption of modern engineering practices and technologies, while serving as a senior technical voice within Credit Technology.
By guiding the design and development of the WLTS platform, you will enable the Whole Loans business to scale and pursue new trading opportunities. What You’ll Do
Lead evolution of WLTS system to Trader Desktop Architecture
Define and champion technical best practices to be used by the team
Provide guidance to jr employees
Provide guidance on merging LIPS and WLTS applications
How You’ll Lead
Working with the senior stakeholders you will take strong ownership and drive complex technical initiatives end-to-end
You will be building scalable, high‑performance backend services using extensive hands-on experience with Java
Skills You’ll Need
Strong experience developing modern front-end applications using React, including state management and component design
Proven experience working with Kotlin in production environments, ideally for backend or mobile services
Deep understanding of Kubernetes and containerized microservices architectures, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams
Experience working in distributed systems and high-availability environments
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (or Development) (CI/CD) pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
