Welcome to Preply's Creative Chapter, where innovation meets passion to craft remarkable experiences for learners and tutors. We're not just creatives, we're on a mission to redefine language learning, guided by empathy and driven by a customer-centric approach to building meaningful products.
Our Creative Studio is the in-house team behind Preply's video and motion content, from brand campaigns to product and organic channels. As a Video Editor focused on long-form YouTube content, you'll join the studio and work closely with our cinematographer, motion designers, and Brand, Supply, and Marketing teams to turn raw footage into compelling long-form stories, from interviews and tutorials to talking-head and podcast-style content.
Own end-to-end editing of medium (5+ minutes) and long-form YouTube videos (10+ minutes), turning raw footage from shoots and interviews into clear, well-paced stories: structure, selects, and rhythm.
Work independently from brief to locked cut. Make first calls on structure, selects, music, and pacing, and review with stakeholders and creative team for brand alignment.
Handle the full audio pass on your projects: dialogue clean-up and levelling, music selection that fits Preply's tone, simple sound design, and mixing to delivery specs.
Manage colour correction and grading for a consistent, on-brand look, including footage from mixed sources (multiple cameras, screen recordings, archive).
Use our motion design team's existing templates and graphic assets to add lower thirds, captions, end screens, and simple overlays, comfortably applying and lightly customizing templates in After Effects and/or Premiere Pro and building simple graphics that enhance your storytelling.
Finish and deliver masters to spec: correct codecs and aspect ratios, accurate captions and timestamps, and organized handoffs.
Keep your projects organized, so anyone on the team could pick up where you left off.
Collaborate closely with our cinematographer, motion designers, and the localization team across review rounds.
7+ years of experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio of long-form content (10+ minute videos): interviews, documentary-style, tutorials, or podcasts.
Strong narrative editing craft: you make confident calls on structure, pacing, and story from raw footage with minimal oversight.
Solid audio post skills: dialogue editing, music selection, basic sound design, and mixing to delivery specs.
Already started incorporating AI solutions into your workflow to speed up processes.
Working knowledge of colour correction, including matching shots from mixed footage sources and applying LUTs and presets consistently.
Comfort applying motion graphic templates (lower thirds, captions, simple overlays) in After Effects and/or Premiere Pro. Motion design or animation experience is a plus.
Fluent in Premiere Pro as your primary editing tool is a must.
An organized, detail-oriented approach to file structure, naming conventions, and versioning.
Strong communication skills and comfort working autonomously while staying aligned with brand and creative direction.
Familiarity with YouTube long-form conventions, pacing for watch time and retention, is a plus.
On-set experience assisting with long-form content to enhance the final footage for editing is a plus.
An open, collaborative, dynamic and diverse culture;
A generous monthly allowance for lessons on Preply.com, Learning & Development budget and time off for your self-development;
