About Technology & Operations
Technology & Operations supports the bank through reliable services, resilient infrastructure and effective controls. In Australia, the Branch Technology team works closely with Group Technology and local stakeholders to deliver stable services, manage technology risk and support regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Lead branch technology, risk management and information security in line with business needs, Group standards and local regulatory obligations.
Be accountable for the availability, resilience and oversight of branch technology services, including services delivered by Group teams and third parties.
Own the branch technology risk and information security framework, including risk identification, control design, monitoring, incidents and escalation.
Oversee regulatory compliance, audit readiness, remediation and continuous improvement of the technology control environment.
Manage third-party technology and security risk, including due diligence, control assurance and vendor oversight.
Lead and develop the branch technology team with clear accountability and strong stakeholder engagement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead branch technology operations and ensure stable, secure and resilient services.
Manage the technology risk and information security control environment, including control testing, issue tracking and remediation.
Coordinate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including APRA prudential standards such as CPS 230 and CPS 234.
Partner with Group Technology and local stakeholders to deliver initiatives and resolve service, risk and control issues.
Oversee vendor and third-party technology services, including performance, risk and control assurance.
Support audits, regulatory reviews and governance forums through clear reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Lead, coach and develop the branch technology team while providing operational support and guidance when required.
Experience
Technology leadership experience in financial services or another regulated environment.
Experience leading a small, high-performing technology team in a hands-on business-facing environment.
Proven experience in technology risk management, information security, control oversight and regulatory compliance.
Experience working in a matrix organization with central technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, auditors and regulators.
Strong understanding of technology risk, information security and operational resilience in a regulated environment.
Working knowledge of relevant frameworks and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001, COBIT, CPS 230 and CPS 234.
Ability to provide effective oversight and challenge of technology risk and control issues.
Strong planning, organization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a lean environment.
Experience in information security management, vendor risk assessment and control testing.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across local and geographically dispersed teams.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, technology, cybersecurity or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or
equivalent industry-recognized qualifications are desirable.
