Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Analyst Programmer / Senior Programmer (VP1 level) to support and enhance the Bank’s Data Warehouse and BNM regulatory reporting systems (CCRIS).
The role is responsible for system development, regulatory reporting accuracy, and production support, with a strong focus on AS/400 (IBM iSeries) technologies and RPG programming. The candidate is expected to ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory data in compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Development & Enhancement
- Design, develop, and maintain applications within the Data Warehouse (DWH) and CCRIS reporting systems
- Perform program coding, unit testing, and system enhancements using RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, and CL in AS/400 environment
- Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
2. Regulatory Reporting (CCRIS)
- Support and maintain BNM CCRIS reporting processes and submissions
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of regulatory data reporting
- Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into system logic and enhancements
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution for submissions
3. System Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Conduct technical and functional analysis for incidents, defects, and change requests
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to resolve data and reporting discrepancies
4. Production Support (L3)
- Provide Level 3 support for DWH and CCRIS systems
- Manage incidents, problem tickets, and service requests within SLA timelines
- Support month-end and regulatory reporting cycles, including after-hours support when required
5. Deployment & Release Management
- Coordinate system testing, UAT support, and deployment activities
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to change management processes
6. Documentation & Governance
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and process flows
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
Job Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in:
- Data Warehouse development and support
- Regulatory reporting systems (preferably BNM CCRIS)
- AS/400 (IBM iSeries) application development
- Candidates with 8–12 years of experience in Data Warehouse, AS/400 RPG/RPGLE development, and hands-on CCRIS regulatory reporting are strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong programming knowledge in:
- RPG / RPGLE (mandatory)
- Control Language (CL)
- Solid experience in:
- SQL (including advanced queries and window functions)
- Data Warehouse concepts and ETL processes
- Data modelling and data analysis
- Familiarity with:
- Query/reporting tools
- Applications in Windows/Linux /AS/400 environments
Domain Knowledge (Highly Preferred)
- Strong understanding of:
- BNM CCRIS regulatory reporting framework
- Regulatory data validation, reconciliation, and submission processes
- Experience in banking or financial services environment
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on data accuracy and compliance
