Job
Simpro was built in Brisbane, for tradies. Come sell it.
Simpro started in Brisbane over 20 years ago, helping trade businesses get on top of their jobs, quotes and cash flow. Today it runs thousands of field service businesses across ANZ, the UK and the US, and we’re growing our Queensland sales team.
We’re after people who like winning new business. If you’d rather find a new customer, work out what’s costing them money and get the deal signed than manage the same accounts year after year, keep reading.
What You’ll Do
This is a new business role, from first conversation to signed contract. You’ll be talking to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire, security and solar businesses who are drowning in paperwork, chasing invoices and losing margin on jobs they can’t properly cost. Your job is to show them a better way to run their business and close the deal.
Our sales cycle is short (around 20 days on average), so you’ll have plenty of deals on the go and you’ll see the results of your work quickly. Most customers are small to mid-sized, but there’s real upside in the bigger multi-site deals for those who can open the door and work the room.
What you’ll be doing
Winning new business
- Working a mix of inbound leads and your own prospecting: phone, LinkedIn, referrals, industry events and getting out to see people face to face
- Running the full sales cycle: discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation and close
- Building your own pipeline, not waiting for someone to hand you one
- Getting out across Queensland and beyond when a deal’s worth the trip
Selling to tradies the right way
- Getting to the real problem quickly, whether that’s job costing, scheduling, quoting or cash flow, and showing how Simpro fixes it
- Running demos that talk about their business, not our feature list
- Working out who actually signs, then bringing the owner, ops manager and finance person along together
- Knowing how to use pricing to close fast, and backing yourself to win when a competitor walks in with a cheaper offer
Running your own desk
- Keeping Salesforce up to date and giving your manager honest forecasts
- Working with our Sales Engineers, Implementation and Account Management teams so customers are set up for success
- Backing yourself
What You’ll Bring
- A solid track record in B2B sales (SaaS or technology ideal) with numbers to back it up: quota attainment, win rates, where you ranked
- Proven new business experience. You’ve opened doors, not just looked after existing accounts
- Experience selling to trades, construction or field service businesses is a big plus
- Comfort with a fast pace and lots of deals at once
- Confidence talking to a business owner on a job site as easily as a CFO in a boardroom
- Willingness to travel and get along to industry events. This isn’t a role you can do entirely from behind a laptop
- A current driver’s licence
What’s in it for you
- Uncapped commission from day one, paid monthly, with accelerators once you pass target. Our top performers earn more than their managers
- A metrics-driven, outcome-focused team. We back people who own their numbers and deliver results
- Hybrid working from our Eight Mile Plains office in Brisbane (3 days in the office), with free cooked lunches from our onsite chef
- Salary packaging including novated leasing, generous parental leave and paid volunteer days
- Strong training, a supportive team and clear career paths across the Simpro Group
