About the Role

The Admissions Systems and Operations Officer is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and developing admissions systems and workflows to ensure efficient application processing and an optimal applicant experience. The role supports daily processing, drives continuous system and process improvement, and contributes to the University’s student recruitment goals. It involves close collaboration with key stakeholders to identify and implement operational efficiencies. A strong technical background in system maintenance and integration, along with the ability to work well within a team is essential.

The Admissions Systems and Operations Officer will also:

• Maintain and improve standard operating procedures and ensure that staff are adequately skilled, supported and trained to maximise the efficiency of admissions processing.
• Ensure the student admission process supports a positive customer/partner service experience including maintaining integrity and evaluating and reporting on business performance.
• Maintain and manage quality assurance elements of the admissions process against benchmarking indicators, including coordinating internal audits and implementing agreed recommendations to ensure consistency of systems and processes and adherence to University policy and procedures.
  

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to "Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters", by 2035 through enhancing admissions systems, processes and operations that support a seamless and student-centred experience for prospective students. By driving continuous improvement, leveraging innovative system solutions and responding proactively to evolving business and student needs, the role helps strengthen service delivery, operational excellence and student recruitment outcomes across the University.

About You

As the Admissions Systems and Operations Officer, you will thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment where no two days are quite the same. Experience in student administration or admissions is essential, along with a strong understanding of systems, workflows and process improvement. You will enjoy solving problems, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, and working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.

In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:

• Experience delivering high-quality customer service and fostering a strong client-focused culture within a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement practical and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Experience working with international and domestic students, including a demonstrated understanding of other cultures and ability to communicate in a cross-cultural working environment.
  

About the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students)

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) provides administrative support to key strategic and operational functions of the University’s student-related and academic services. Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University. This includes:  

• A current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University. The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in identifying and managing enhanced system and process improvement that utilises knowledge of digital literacy and relevant systems.
  • High level analytical skills enabling the formulation and implementation of practical and/or innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Demonstrated strong planning and project coordination skills and an ability to set priorities, manage complex workflows with non-negotiable deadlines and be flexible and open to implementing change.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills including experience in providing training for groups and individuals as it applies to technology and business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with international and domestic students, including a demonstrated understanding of other cultures and ability to communicate in a cross-cultural working environment.
