What will your responsibilities be?

- Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and determining the need for compulsory admission, detention, guardianship, or Community Treatment Orders where appropriate.
- Completing urgent assessments of adults with suspected social care and mental health needs, ensuring individuals and carers are protected from harm.
- Coordinating Mental Health Act assessments and taking responsibility, alongside partner agencies, for the safety and wellbeing of all participants involved in the assessment process.
- Managing a varied and complex caseload involving adults with mental health needs, risk factors, safeguarding concerns, and complex social circumstances.
- Undertaking Care Act assessments, reviews, care planning, and social work interventions to support independence and recovery.
- Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and applying the Mental Capacity Act 2005 within practice.
- Responding to referrals, undertaking duty work, and providing timely intervention to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
- Undertaking risk assessments and implementing risk management plans to support safe and effective interventions.
- Working collaboratively with mental health services, Adult Social Care teams, NHS professionals, carers, families, and partner agencies.
- Undertaking safeguarding enquiries and ensuring vulnerable adults are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Providing supervision, support, and guidance to students, trainees, and unqualified staff where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records, assessments, reports, and documentation.
- Participating in regular supervision, training, and AMHP development activities to maintain professional standards and AMHP approval.
