Acceleration Centre

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative audit solutions.
ERP Data Extraction & Engineering:
- Extract financial and operational data from SAP/Oracle/D365 backend tables (e.g., GL and subledgers) and validate mappings with SMEs.
- Design performance-aware extract logic, including incremental loads and Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Optimise joins, keys and filters to minimise ERP load and support reliable refresh cycles.
ETL / ELT Pipeline Development:
- Build, standardise and automate end-to-end pipelines using SQL, Python and Databricks (PySpark), with Alteryx where appropriate.
- Implement schema evolution handling, robust error/retry logic, and completeness/reconciliation checks.
- Orchestrate workloads with Azure Data Factory (pipelines, triggers, dependencies).
Cloud & Lakehouse:
- Land raw and curated data in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) with clear folder structures and access controls.
- Create Delta Lake tables with ACID guarantees, versioning and auditability; apply cost-efficient design patterns in Azure.
Data Quality, Testing & Observability:
- Define control totals, referential integrity and anomaly checks; implement automated data quality tests.
- Write unit/integration tests for ETL; configure logging, monitoring and alerting with clear SLAs/SLOs.
- Maintain data lineage and metadata to support audit traceability.
API-driven Acquisition:
- Consume REST APIs (Workday, D365, SAP, Oracle) using Python/ADF connectors with secure OAuth/bearer token flows.
DevOps & CI/CD:
- Use Azure DevOps (Git) for branching, reviews and release automation; build CI/CD for notebooks, ADF and Python packages.
- Containerise components where appropriate (Docker) and manage dependencies via environments.
Documentation & Collaboration:
- Produce pipeline specs, ERD mappings, runbooks and data dictionaries; contribute to reusable components and best practices.
- Partner with audit teams and global delivery centres to meet quality, timeliness and compliance expectations
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Perform data extraction and cleansing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Build, standardise, and automate data pipelines to support analytics teams in delivering data-enabled audits.
- Enhance and maintain strong relationships with engagement teams and clients.
- The role provides an opportunity for the individual to interact with Data Acquisition teams globally and share best practices.
Minimum Degree(s):
- B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME (preferably computer science), Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or working in Accounting/Commerce industry with 4+ year of relevant experience.
- Strong SQL and Python; hands-on PySpark/Databricks.
• ETL/ELT development and workflow orchestration (Azure Data Factory). - Knowledge of data management, cleansing and transformation processes.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, D365) with understanding of key backend tables.
- Experience with financial/general ledger data models and reconciliations.
- CI/CD with Azure DevOps (Git); code reviews and automated deployments.
- Data quality frameworks and automated testing (unit/integration).
- Logging/monitoring/alerting; defining SLAs/SLOs; documenting lineage and metadata.
- API extraction and secure auth (OAuth, bearer tokens, headers).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in data engineering within external audit processes.
- Orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect); Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep).
- Unity Catalog/metadata governance; Delta Live Tables; cost optimisation in Azure.
- Containerisation (Docker) and packaging (wheels).
- Experience working in financial accounting, regulatory compliance, or internal audit.
- Knowledge of major ERP table structures (SAP, Oracle, D365).
- Experience consuming REST APIs (e.g., Workday, D365, SAP, Oracle) for data extraction using Python, Azure Data Factory REST connectors, Databricks, or Alteryx HTTP tools.
- Understanding of API authentication (OAuth, bearer tokens, headers) for securely accessing ERP/HCM REST endpoints.
- Understanding of Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and cloud data workflows.
Technical Skills:
- Data transformation & modelling: Databricks (PySpark), Delta Lake, SQL.
- Data storage & querying: ADLS, Databricks SQL.
