About Our Business Development Team
You'll join a highly collaborative global team that partners closely across technical, legal, marketing, and operational functions to support customers throughout the full development and manufacturing lifecycle. Our team operates in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment where strategic thinking, relationship building, and commercial excellence drive success. We focus on delivering high-quality opportunities aligned with our mission to bring hope to life through biopharmaceutical innovation.
Your Key Responsibilities
Identify, research, and qualify new business leads across North America, serving as the primary prospecting resource for the North American Business Development team working hand in hand with our Market Intelligence, Marketing teams.
Conduct targeted proactive outreach—via phone, email, LinkedIn, and industry events—to engage prospective clients and generate a robust pipeline of development and manufacturing opportunities spanning the full North American territory.
Partner closely with North American BD Directors and Senior Directors to prioritize target accounts, coordinate outreach strategies, and ensure seamless handoff of qualified opportunities.
Leverage Boston/Cambridge market presence to build and maintain relationships within the local biotech and pharmaceutical community, representing AGC Biologics' on-the-ground at local events and increasing brand awareness in the Boston Biotech Ecosystem.
Coordinate, attend, and actively represent AGC Biologics at local Boston-area industry events, networking functions, North American conferences, and trade shows, capturing leads and advancing relationships on behalf of the broader North American team.
Effectively communicate AGC Biologics' technical and operational capabilities to key decision-makers and scientific stakeholders within prospective organizations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions, pipeline activity, and opportunity status within CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), ensuring full visibility and timely follow-up across the North American team.
Collaborate with Marketing to support North American commercial initiatives, including campaign execution, conference preparation, and targeted lead generation activities.
Gather and synthesize market intelligence based on customer interactions, sharing insights with BD and commercial leadership to inform North American go-to-market strategy.
Consistently deliver high-quality qualified opportunities aligned with company growth strategies and leadership expectations.
Your Leadership & Professional Competencies
Treats outreach as a craft, understands that breaking through in today's environment requires creativity, precision, and persistence, and continuously refines messaging, sequencing, and timing to maximize response rates.
Skilled at translating complex scientific and technical capabilities into concise, compelling outreach that resonates with busy decision-makers, whether a VP of Process Development or a Head of Business Operations.
Relentlessly proactive and self-motivated, with a hunter mentality and the discipline to execute high-volume, high-quality outreach consistently without losing personalization or impact.
Highly organized and systematic in approach, builds and manages structured prospecting cadences, maintains rigorous CRM hygiene, and tracks outreach performance to continuously improve conversion at every stage of the funnel.
Adept at researching target accounts and individual contacts to craft tailored, insight-driven outreach that demonstrates genuine understanding of a prospect's pipeline, platform, and priorities.
Comfortable operating across multiple channels simultaneously - email, phone, LinkedIn, events, and referrals—and knows how to sequence touchpoints for maximum effectiveness.
Collaborative and team-oriented, functioning as a true force multiplier for the BD Directors they support - operating in alignment with AGC Biologics' Core Values: Knowledge, Trust, Quality, Ingenuity, Accountability, and Teamwork.
