The Role
At Fisher & Paykel Home Solutions, we believe in innovating for the future. Known for excellence in home appliances, we’re now venturing into sustainable energy solutions with our mission to transform how homes and businesses harness the power of solar energy. With a legacy of quality and a commitment to sustainability, we are pioneering a new era in the energy sector.
The formation of Home Solutions is a significant milestone in our journey towards net zero carbon. Our mission is to deliver Home Energy Solutions that help achieve Energy Efficient, Carbon Zero and Carbon Positive goals for both home and business.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of commercial solar in New Zealand.
As our Commercial Solar Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing our business development strategy across the commercial and industrial solar market, with a focus on growing market share and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.
Reporting to the Head of Solar NZ, you’ll identify where the opportunities are, determine who we need to be talking to, build the strategy to engage them and turn those relationships into new and enduring business.
You’ll take ownership of a national commercial territory, developing new accounts while growing our share of wallet with existing customers. You’ll work across the broader Home Solutions and builder teams to support the sale of solar solutions through additional channels, as well as partnering with electrical wholesaler customers.
Our solar portfolio includes solar panels, inverters, battery storage and EV chargers, giving you the opportunity to help customers find practical energy solutions for their commercial and industrial sites.
This is a highly commercial role. You’ll use market insight, customer relationships and sales data to identify opportunities, manage pricing and maximise both revenue and profitability. You’ll also build a deep understanding of the New Zealand solar market, including emerging trends, competitors, customer needs, sales channels and product applications.
Just as importantly, you’ll be the face of Home Solutions for your customers, providing outstanding end-to-end support from forecasting and ordering through to technical pre-sales enquiries, supply chain and after-sales service. You’ll help customers understand our products, their benefits and points of difference, while building the trust that creates long-term partnerships.
We’re looking for an experienced B2B sales and business development professional who knows how to open doors, build influence and turn relationships into results.
You’ll bring:
You’ll need to be comfortable working nationally, travelling to meet customers and opportunities as required, and hold a current driver’s licence.
Most importantly, you’ll be curious, commercially minded, resilient and prepared to take action. You’ll enjoy working in a market where there is significant opportunity to build something, rather than simply manage what already exists.
This is a chance to join Fisher & Paykel Home Solutions at an important point in its growth journey and play a genuine role in establishing our position in New Zealand’s commercial solar market.
You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships, develop new business and help shape how our solar proposition grows across New Zealand, working alongside an experienced Home Solutions team and a broader organisation with a strong history of innovation.
If you’re motivated by creating opportunities, building great customer relationships and delivering commercially meaningful results, this is an opportunity to make your mark in a rapidly evolving sector.
