Build the backbone of zero-emission operations
Are you driven to design systems that are not only technically sound, but scalable, efficient and future-proof?
Charging infrastructure is at the heart of zero-emission operations. At Arriva, we are building a standardised, scalable and optimised approach to charging infrastructure across Europe.
We are looking for a transformer who will define and continuously improve how charging infrastructure is designed and standardised, enabling efficient and reliable operations at scale.
What will you do
You will lead the Charging Infrastructure Excellence domain, focusing on system design, standardisation and continuous optimisation.
Define the charging strategy and design principles
Develop group-wide standards for depot and opportunity charging
Define infrastructure concepts, layouts and system architectures
Create scalable building blocks for consistent deployment
Optimise infrastructure performance
Identify structural inefficiencies in current designs (cost, utilisation, energy use)
Develop improved concepts such as direct wire, smart charging and load optimisation
Translate innovations into standardised solutions
Build and maintain standards
Own and continuously improve the group standard for charging infrastructure
Ensure alignment with operational, financial and technical requirements
Drive innovation and future readiness
Monitor industry developments and integrate new technologies
Shape Arriva’s long-term infrastructure strategy
What we can offer
Working at Arriva in this role will give you a strong mandate to make steps forward in the energy transition and sustainable public transportation. Not just ambitious plans, but measurable reduction of emissions and optimizations.
The international scope of the role means you get to really take charge of your subject, while you benefit from the informal working culture in an ambitious international team and work with multiple different nationalities.
About you: skills, knowledge and the person behind the profile
You are a HOW person, who is naturally inclined towards the practical application of general principles and strategy. If you don’t think a plan can be put to practice, what’s the point in writing a plan in the first place? It’s all about progress and impact, both for the company and the environment.
Your main talent is your ability to make the translation from the international strategic plan to local execution. This means that you’re a creative person who enjoys building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
You are a technical expert with a system-level perspective and a drive to standardise and improve.
Strong experience in charging infrastructure, energy systems or power engineering
Understanding of grid constraints, system design and optimisation
Experience in developing or scaling technical standards
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Fluent in English
You design solutions that are repeatable, scalable and resilient — not one-off projects.
Our selection process
If you decide to apply for this position, here’s what will happen: on June 28th the position will close and your CV and motivational letter will be screened. When selected there will follow a couple of interviews with the hiring manager and counterparts in the business.
