The PITCH
We are creators, creative industry rogues, and SuperBowl stars. We are not just on the internet; we are creating the stuff the internet wants to see. We’re insane for what we do and the people we do it with. We move so fast and make so much good shit that we can’t even keep up with ourselves. So, we need more folks just like us, the unconventional, less-obvious, unseasoned (or over seasoned) creative pros. But above all - passionate makers and culture shakers.
Want in? We love subversive artists, obsessive makers, dedicated creators and we don’t care if you're a baby fresh to the workforce or working on your third act. What’s your hustle? Documentarian? DJ? Sports junkie? Fashionista? Blogger? Vlogger? Retired logger? Are you an Insta-feind? An unabashed Tik Tokker or Youtuber? Or both? We’re down with all of that. Just as long as you love making content and are really good at it.
This is a full time role based in Malaysia.
Are you based in Malaysia? Geeking the content religiously in the Malaysian market? Fluent in Malay? Oh well, we could be meant to be ---
We’re looking for a Creative Director who lives and breathes social media, lifestyle, and social storytelling.
Who You Are
You’re not just a creative thinker—you’re a creator. Your portfolio isn’t a PDF; it’s living and breathing on social. You’ve built audiences, driven engagement, and turned cultural insights into breakthrough creative work. If your social handles can win you an interview, you’re already one foot in.
What You’ll Do
Lead, Make, Repeat: You’re not just here to direct; you’re in the trenches, making daily. You lead by getting your hands dirty—concepting, writing, designing, and even editing when needed. You move fast, iterate, and set the creative pace for the team.
Editor-in-Chief Mindset: You understand people, what they care about, and what’s happening. You don’t just follow trends—you predict, shape, and react to them in real time.
Social Performance Obsessed: You don’t just make creative—you study how it performs, why it works (or doesn’t), and turn those insights into sharper, more effective ideas.
Culture-First, Not Ad-First: You know that most times, the best work isn’t an ad. It’s a conversation, a movement, or a moment people actually care about. You have the instinct to create things that feel native, human, and worth engaging with.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with strategy, media, and production teams to ensure ideas don’t just look good, but work.
Pitch & Present: Sell ideas to clients with confidence, backed by cultural insights and platform knowledge.
What You Need
What Gets You Noticed
What you should know about VaynerMedia
Think “lab” and not “agency”. We get excited about solving business problems, not creating advertising for the sake of making advertising. Our entrepreneurship DNA runs deep. We’re willing to break rules, try new things, and test hypotheses if it means better understanding our craft. It’s fun!
Our environment (and pace) feels much more like a start-up than most agencies you might be used to. Hopefully that, and the opportunity to collaborate with the talented and enthusiastic crew, work with big brands excites you, as it does us. We can’t wait to meet you.
P.S Portfolio would be nice :)
