As a Lead Measurement Analyst, you will be the strategic architect, operational manager, and subject matter expert (SME) driving our commercial performance measurement framework. Operating within the Commercial Analytics and Performance division, you will lead the end-to-end design, execution, delivery, and project management of sophisticated analytics that track FedEx global vertical performance.
You will translate complex database queries and advanced statistical models into high-level business justifications and executive-level narratives. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will synthesize past, present, and future commercial trends to guide marketing, forecasting, and commercial business strategies. Additionally, you will champion analytical standards, distribute work tasks, manage delivery timelines, clear operational roadblocks, and mentor team members to foster a high-performing culture of data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Vertical Performance
- Own the end-to-end measurement framework for tracking global performance across priority industry verticals (e.g., E-commerce, Healthcare, Aerospace, Technology).
- Lead deep-dive analyses into critical revenue drivers, isolating trends in volume, pricing, and yield—specifically monitoring and developing strategies to address yield compression and regional performance variations.
- Design and champion the architecture of advanced Power BI dashboards and executive scorecards, establishing data modelling and reporting standards across the team.
- Collaborate with data engineering and business intelligence partners to optimize enterprise data structures, ensuring consistent data pipelines and high-integrity reporting environments.
Executive Consultation & Narrative Delivery
- Author and present high-impact, narrative-driven business reviews and strategic performance updates directly to executive leadership (e.g., CEO updates, senior staff briefings, and quarterly reviews).
- Translate complex statistical anomalies and commercial trends into clear, executive-ready "so-what" insights, detailing the past drivers, present status, and future outlook.
- Formulate data-driven business cases and pricing/revenue simulations to support strategic adjustments in vertical targeting and market positioning.
Advanced Statistics, AI, & Cohort Modelling
- Direct the implementation of advanced statistical methodologies (such as cohort analysis, regression, and pattern recognition) to identify and explain hidden trends in transactional datasets.
- Drive the business application of AI/Machine Learning models, leveraging clustering algorithms and predictive frameworks to refine customer cohorts, automate industry vertical tracking, and capture emerging micro-trends.
- Partner with forecasting, marketing, and finance leaders to align historical performance models with forward-looking growth forecasts and strategic demand plans.
Team Leadership, Project Delivery, & Governance
- Task Distribution & Backlog Management: Manage the intake of analytical requests, prioritize competing demands, and strategically distribute work packages across team members to align with individual strengths and project requirements.
- Timeline Tracking & Progress Reporting: Track delivery milestones for major reporting cycles and ad-hoc analytics projects, ensuring consistent execution and providing progress and bandwidth updates to department leadership.
- Roadblock Resolution: Act as a proactive buffer for the sub-team, stepping in to resolve technical hurdles, cross-functional data dependency bottlenecks, or query limitations by collaborating with IT, Data Engineering, and product groups.
- Process Optimization & Automation: Continuously refine, standardize, and automate recurring analytics processes to reduce reporting cycle times and increase overall team responsiveness.
- Mentorship & Quality Control: Establish and govern analytical standards, documentation, and query-optimization practices, providing peer reviews and technical mentoring to mid- and junior-level analysts.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
- 7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, commercial analytics, revenue management, or financial measurement.
- Proven experience in a "Lead", Project Lead, or senior consulting capacity, showcasing the ability to manage project pipelines, track timelines, and coordinate cross-functional resources.
- Extensive experience querying large-scale enterprise relational databases (e.g., Snowflake, Teradata, BigQuery) and building advanced visualization frameworks.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating the successful translation of complex analytical findings into executive level presentations and business cases.
Core Competencies
- Operational & Delivery Leadership: Excellent capacity to organize project plans, delegate tasks, track delivery timelines, and maintain team output while actively mitigating risks and clearing technical roadblocks.

- Analytical Leadership & Rigor: High-level problem-solving capability; a track record of formulating robust business hypotheses and establishing rigorous standards for data integrity and statistical validity.
- Consultative Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with senior directors and cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Pricing, and Marketing) across global time zones.
- Innovation & Change Champion: Proactive approach to adopting new technologies (such as GenAI, machine learning, and automation tools) to optimize legacy reporting systems.
Professional Expertise & Technical Skills
- Analytics & Data Modelling: Expert proficiency in SQL (required) paired with strong data architecture and modelling skills.
- Advanced Applied Statistics: Mastery of statistical concepts (e.g., sampling, significance, correlation, predictive modelling) applied directly to commercial cohorts and behavioural segmentations.
- Business AI & Machine Learning: Practical experience leveraging machine learning concepts (e.g., clustering algorithms, decision trees, NLP/text analytics) to drive customer segmentation, automate tracking, and isolate performance anomalies.
- Data Visualization: Advanced development skills in Power BI or similar enterprise-grade visualization suites.
- Programming & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python or R to build reproducible data models, script automation pipelines, and execute advanced analytics.
