As a Data Engineer - Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights within our Data and Analytics Engineering team. You will leverage your technical skills to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support client-facing projects. As a Specialist, you will provide specialized technical knowledge, handling detailed tasks and conducting in-depth analyses to support specific projects. You will adapt to a fast-paced environment, take ownership of your work, and consistently deliver quality results that drive value for clients and contribute to the team's success.
In this role at PwC Acceleration Center Mexico, you will be part of our Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics network, working within our Data, Analytics & AI Managed Services practice. You will collaborate with a diverse team to deliver innovative solutions, applying your skills to enhance data management processes and support the development of advanced analytics capabilities. Your contributions will be integral to the success of our managed services, helping clients navigate complex data challenges and achieve their strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
-Serve as architecture owner: chair design reviews, enforce standards, and align with enterprise data platform and security governance.
-Manage stakeholder relationships (business, analytics, platform, security); translate demand into sequenced delivery; communicate risks, issues, and status clearly.
-Drive collaboration with business stakeholders, data architects, and technical teams for requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery.
-Perform release/change management, incident/problem management, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement of processes and tooling.
-Establish and maintain policies, playbooks, and documentation for engineering, modeling, testing, and operations.
-Review and approve all technical deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards with respective track leads.
-Coordinate with manager on weekly status, monthly status and other project related data for the client and PwC leadership.
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 1 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required
-Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes
-Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures
-Implement data integration workflows from multiple sources (APIs, flat files, databases)
-Perform data transformation, cleansing, and validation
-Monitor and troubleshoot ETL job failures and performance issues
-Optimize database performance using indexing, query tuning, execution plans
-Schedule and automate jobs using SQL Server Agent
What Sets You Apart
-Exposure to streaming (e.g., Kafka), Python, and orchestration frameworks, cost optimization in cloud data platforms.
-DataOps practices, Agile/DevOps delivery, and ITIL-aligned managed service operations.
-Exposure to ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
-Domain experience in healthcare
