Executive Business Advisor, PeopleX

See yourself in our team

There has never been a more exciting time to be in HR.

AI, technology and changing workforce expectations are reshaping how people work, how organisations support their people and what HR can make possible. At CommBank, PeopleX is at the heart of that change.

PeopleX brings together a broad and influential portfolio spanning employee experience, AI and technology, workforce transformation, career growth, people services, workplace relations, health, safety and wellbeing, payroll, and the systems and services our people rely on every day.

We're transforming some of the most important experiences in our people's working lives. From helping people grow their careers and access new opportunities, to reimagining workforce change, simplifying people services and exploring how AI can create better, more personalised experiences, our agenda is ambitious and impacts more than 50,000 people.

As Executive Business Advisor, you'll work directly with the EGM PeopleX at the centre of this agenda. This is much more than an executive support role. You'll be a trusted advisor, strategic thinker and highly effective operator, helping the EGM navigate a complex portfolio, engage senior stakeholders, make better decisions and turn priorities into action. You'll have a unique view across PeopleX and HR, working closely with the PeopleX Leadership Team and senior leaders across CommBank. You'll connect the dots, anticipate what's coming and bring the insight, structure and momentum needed to move important work forward.

For someone who is curious, ambitious and energised by complexity, it's an opportunity to get close to some of the biggest questions facing HR and the future of work, and play a meaningful role in shaping what comes next.

What your role will involve

You'll be a trusted partner to the EGM PeopleX, helping them stay ahead of a broad, fast-moving agenda and ensuring their time and attention remain focused on what matters most.

You'll develop a strong understanding of the PeopleX portfolio and the broader organisational context. You'll work across the PeopleX Leadership Team and with senior stakeholders to bring together perspectives, identify emerging issues and ensure the EGM has the insight and advice needed for critical conversations and decisions.

A big part of your role will be seeing around corners. You'll anticipate what is coming, identify where intervention or alignment is needed and look externally for developments across AI, technology, employee experience and workforce transformation that could influence our thinking.

You'll have the trust and autonomy to use your initiative, form a point of view and make things happen.

On any given day, you will

• Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the EGM PeopleX, providing insight, challenge and support across strategic priorities.
• Work closely with the PeopleX Leadership Team and senior stakeholders across CommBank to connect priorities, perspectives and actions.
• Anticipate upcoming decisions, commitments and stakeholder requirements, ensuring the EGM is prepared for the conversations that matter.
• Turn complex information into clear, compelling executive briefs, presentations, recommendations and points of view.
• Connect the dots across the PeopleX portfolio, identifying dependencies, emerging issues and opportunities that require attention.
• Bring outside-in thinking on AI, technology, employee experience, workforce transformation and the future of HR into the PeopleX agenda.
• Drive important actions and commitments forward, creating clarity, alignment and momentum across teams.

To be successful in this role

You'll be a seasoned strategic operator who is curious, proactive and comfortable working at pace in a complex environment.

You'll quickly understand unfamiliar problems, make sense of complexity and turn information into insight and action. You'll be confident working with senior executives, able to influence without formal authority and equally comfortable thinking strategically or getting into the detail to move something forward.

You'll bring significant experience from strategy, consulting, transformation, Chief of Staff, Executive Advisor or a similar environment. Consulting experience would be highly regarded.

You'll also bring:

• Exceptional initiative and an instinct for anticipating what is needed before being asked.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem solving and commercial judgement.
• Outstanding executive communication, writing and storytelling skills.
• The ability to rapidly synthesise complex information and develop a clear point of view.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation across multiple competing demands.
• Exceptional stakeholder skills and the confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior leaders.
• Intellectual curiosity, particularly around AI, technology, people and the changing world of work.
• A high bar for quality, combined with the pace and pragmatism to get things done.

Most importantly, you'll be someone people trust. You'll be resourceful, one step ahead and motivated by the opportunity to work at the centre of an ambitious agenda and make a meaningful impact.
