Position Summary:

The Gourmandie is a specialty food and wine market located in Schweitzer’s Village.  The Clerk is responsible for both guest facing and back of house food prep.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers, offering exceptional guest service.
• Take customer food & drink orders with the ability to recommend products from the menu as well as the beverage selections. 
• Create and produce outstanding food and unique deli items. 
• Stock, rotate and merchandise market items.
• Assisting with the tidying of tables and keeping the outlet areas clean and organized. 
• Ensuring kitchen and service utensils are properly prepared and / or cleaned at opening and closing to comply with health regulations. 
• Work schedule will include weekends and holidays.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- SafeServe certification preferred and Idaho Beverage Seller training preferred

Technical- Point of Sale computer system familiarity, Cash handling skills

Physical Capabilities- Able to walk/stand for a full shift (potentially for up to 10 hours), lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional- comfortable around sharp kitchen equipment

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication. High School or GED preferred

Minimum time in related position- 6 months in food retail preferred
