At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a $7 trillion industry - which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms.
Until now, insurance has been making billion-dollar decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision - helping them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence.
Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally - already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx.
What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do - from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates.
What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure; it's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company engineered to endure.
If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next.
Finance at hx is a lean, AI-native team that builds the operational engine behind a high-growth, fast-moving business. The team's job is to turn complexity into clarity: giving leaders accurate numbers, clean controls, and the confidence to make bold decisions quickly. It is not a back-office function; it is close to the action, involved early in decisions, and expected to shape how the business scales.
The team is still building its foundations, which means there is genuine scope to define how processes work, not just execute them. Everyone on the team is relatively new to their role, and that is by design. hx is growing quickly, and the Finance function is scaling to match. What that means in practice is that the people who join now have the opportunity to build things from scratch, automate what should not be done by hand, and become a cornerstone of how the company operates for years to come.
This role sits at the heart of day-to-day finance operations: revenue, VAT, payroll, banking, and month-end close. The work is precise, deadline-driven, and consequential. If you find satisfaction in owning a process properly, keeping it clean, and making it better over time, this is the environment where that instinct will be rewarded.

Own the end-to-end revenue and accounts receivable cycle in NetSuite, ensuring sales orders are raised promptly, invoices reflect the correct FRS102 revenue recognition treatment, and the AR ledger is reconciled monthly with no unexplained misstatements at year-end audit.
Drive the month-end close to a defined timetable, completing the close by working day four and ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are evidenced and reviewed by working day seven.
Manage UK VAT compliance from preparation through to filing, maintaining audit-ready workpapers at all times and ensuring every return is reconciled, accurate, and submitted on time with no penalties.
Take full ownership of UK payroll once the HiBob transition completes, processing each monthly run accurately and on schedule, and maintaining clean payroll-to-NetSuite reconciliations.
Oversee banking, treasury, and payment controls, including maintaining a rolling cash flow forecast, keeping bank accounts reconciled in NetSuite, and acting as a control point on payment runs to prevent unauthorised or duplicate payments.
Identify and deliver at least one process improvement or automation each quarter, keeping SOPs current and approaching documentation as a control rather than an administrative task.
Operated core finance processes end-to-end in a fast-paced or high-growth environment, with clear personal ownership of recurring cycles such as revenue, VAT, payroll, or month-end close rather than supporting a larger team at arm's length.
Used NetSuite hands-on across multiple functional areas, including Advanced Revenue Management, intercompany transactions, and reconciliation workflows; experience across more than one organisation or configuration is a strong advantage. NetSuite experience is a prerequisite for this role. You must be able to demonstrate what your day to day use and experience is, and how you have driven optimisation of NetSuite.
Prepared and filed UK VAT returns with a solid understanding of coding, reconciliation, and the treatment of non-UK sales and purchases, and maintained documentation to a standard that can withstand an HMRC query without a handover.
Taken meaningful responsibility for a month-end close process, including understanding the full sequence of steps, managing to a timetable, and identifying where controls or documentation needed strengthening.
Demonstrated a consistent instinct for improving and automating manual processes, with the ability to articulate both the before and the after, and the judgement to know when a manual control should be kept.
Shown the character and values that make finance work in a high-trust environment: honesty about problems before they escalate, clear written communication, and a collaborative mindset that strengthens the team around you.
You prefer stability and predictability over environments where processes are still being built and priorities can shift quickly.
You are most comfortable contributing to a defined part of a process rather than owning the outcome end-to-end and taking responsibility when something is not right.
You see documentation and SOPs as administrative overhead rather than a meaningful part of doing the job well.
If reading our Culture Document leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us.
At hx, we're committed to salary transparency. You'll always have clarity on pay early in the process - our Talent Partner will share details with you during initial conversations - and we're working towards publishing salary information for all roles globally.
