This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Product Marketing based in United States.
This is a founding product marketing leadership role at a venture-backed AI and legal technology company.
You’ll own how complex technical products are positioned, explained, and communicated to customers and the broader market.
Working closely with executive leadership, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and customers, you’ll turn sophisticated capabilities into clear and differentiated value propositions.
You’ll shape product launches from the narrative and audience through messaging, proof points, and supporting content.
The role combines strategic positioning with hands-on editorial leadership across websites, product pages, campaigns, social content, presentations, video, and sales materials.
You’ll also bring customer insights and market intelligence into the company’s messaging while using performance data to continuously refine the narrative.
This is a highly visible, autonomous role for an exceptional storyteller who can influence both strategy and execution in a fast-moving AI environment.
Accountabilities:
- Develop differentiated product positioning and messaging that translates complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling customer value.
- Own the editorial calendar and proactively define the company’s communication priorities, themes, and publishing agenda.
- Develop product launch narratives by defining the problem, target audience, messaging, proof points, and overall story before creating supporting materials.
- Write and edit content across websites, product pages, email campaigns, blogs, social media, scripts, presentations, and sales collateral.
- Partner with executives to turn their expertise and perspectives into compelling posts, videos, panels, interviews, and other external content.
- Conduct customer, Sales, and Customer Success conversations to understand buying motivations, customer language, and market needs.
- Lead video and content strategy, determining what to produce, the appropriate format and presenters, and the strongest narrative hooks.
- Present on camera when appropriate and serve as a visible voice for the company’s products and perspective.
- Build sales enablement materials that communicate product value at different levels, from concise 30-second explanations to detailed enterprise conversations.
- Monitor competitors, market developments, and the broader AI landscape to strengthen and evolve positioning.
- Partner with performance marketing teams and use conversion data to improve messaging and overall marketing effectiveness.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external agencies while maintaining strategic ownership of the product marketing direction.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing, communications, storytelling, or related roles within AI, enterprise software, legal technology, or similarly complex product environments.
- Demonstrated experience working in or marketing to the legal industry, with an understanding of how legal professionals evaluate, trust, and purchase products.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and editorial judgment, with the ability to create clear and memorable narratives.
- Proven ability to make sophisticated technology understandable and compelling without oversimplifying the underlying product.
- Strong experience owning product positioning and messaging from strategic development through execution.
- Demonstrated track record planning and executing product launches, including narrative development and definition of proof points.
- Experience directing video and content production, with confidence presenting on camera as a company representative.
- Experience conducting customer research and interviews to uncover authentic customer language, needs, and buying motivations.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and external partners.
- Proficiency with modern AI tools and an ability to use them effectively to improve content quality and production speed.
- Strong strategic judgment, initiative, autonomy, and ability to set priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Backgrounds such as former lawyers who transitioned into marketing, legal or business journalists, or product marketers working with highly technical products are particularly relevant.
- Ability to work remotely with meaningful overlap during Eastern Time hours.
- Willingness to travel periodically as required.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Benefits:
- $180,000–$225,000 USD annual base salary.
- Fully remote position within the United States.
- Meaningful overlap with Eastern Time working hours.
- Periodic travel opportunities and requirements.
- High-visibility founding leadership role with broad ownership of product marketing strategy.
- Opportunity to shape positioning, launches, editorial strategy, content, and customer-facing narratives across the organization.
- Close collaboration with executive leadership, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and customers.
- Exposure to AI, legal technology, and complex enterprise products.
