Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Product Support Technical Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL

Essential Functions:

The Integrated Product Support Technical Lead will be responsible for supervisory or management responsibilities for more than one integrated support element; provides oversight and management of new development and sustainment of operations technical publication proposals and project execution while also managing teams supporting multiple sites in Huntsville, AL. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications

• Must obtain a STEM B.S. degree in Logistics field or Engineering discipline and 12 years of experience; M.S degree and 10 years of experience (preferred); PhD degree and 8 years of experience or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree

• Must has an Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Experience across one or more lifecycle phases: 

• System Development 

• Fielding 

• Modernization 

• Sustainment 

• Must have 8–15+ years supporting DoD acquisition or sustainment programs.

Integrated Product Support Knowledge

• Demonstrated experience with:

  • Integrated Product Support (IPS)

  • Product Support Management

  • Sustainment planning

  • Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM)

  • Technical data management

• Supply support

• Maintenance planning

• Training systems

• Support equipment

• Obsolescence management

Strong familiarity with:

• DoD Product Support Elements (12 IPS Elements)

• Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs)

• Product Support Business Case Analysis (BCA)

• Sustainment metrics and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs)

DoD Acquisition Knowledge

Working knowledge of:

• Defense acquisition lifecycle

• Milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, etc)

• Systems Engineering processes

• Configuration management

• Risk management

• Earned Value concepts

Familiarity with:

• GEIA-STD-0007

• DoDI 5000 series guidance

• MIL-STD-881

• MIL-HDBK-502

Technical Skills

Ability to:

• Analyze sustainment impacts of design decisions

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical data

• Evaluate logistics support requirements

• Coordinate cross-functional IPTs

• Develop sustainment analyses and recommendations

• Review CDRLs and DIDs

• Support provisioning and technical manual development

Experience with logistics management tools such as:

• PowerLog-J

• SLIC

• ERP/SAP systems

• Excel

Program Management / Leadership

Demonstrated ability to:

• Lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

• Interface with government customers

• Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, contracts, and operations

• Develop schedules and task tracking

• Present to senior leadership and customers

• Manage subcontractor sustainment activities

Preferred Certifications

• Master's degree

• Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) 

• PMP certification 

• Strong technical communication skills 

• Ability to translate engineering into operational impact

• Ability to negotiate between engineering, cost, and sustainment realities

• Ability to produce executive-level sustainment insight rather than just logistics paperwork 

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
