Logan Health is seeking an analytical, collaborative professional who is confident working with data and communicating directly with leaders for our newly created Nursing Workforce Planning Specialist position!

This important role combines workforce analysis with presentations, relationship building, and collaborative problem-solving. You’ll use spreadsheets and reporting tools to understand workforce trends, then bring those findings into conversations with nursing and operational leaders to help guide staffing decisions. Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and the ability to turn information into practical recommendations are essential to success.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll work closely with nursing leaders, Human Resources, Finance, Staffing, and Talent Acquisition to understand workforce needs and support staffing across our inpatient units. You’ll analyze workforce trends, staffing capacity, labor utilization, turnover, absenteeism, and leave activity to identify challenges and recommend solutions.

Preparing and delivering presentations, meeting with leaders, and discussing recommendations are key parts of this position. You’ll explain what the data shows, answer questions, listen to operational concerns, and help leaders evaluate options for staffing levels, position openings, shift adjustments, and labor resources.

Your work will connect accurate analysis with the conversations and decisions that support workforce stability and planning.

Who You Are:

You’re proficient in Excel, as well as compiling, tracking, and analyzing complex data. You must also be equally comfortable walking leaders through your findings. You can organize and interpret workforce data, and present it in a clear, useful way.

You bring strong listening and interpersonal skills, ask thoughtful questions, and build productive relationships across departments. You can adapt your communication to different audiences, explain the reasoning behind your recommendations, and respond constructively to questions and feedback.

Our ideal candidate combines:

• Strong data analysis and spreadsheet skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• The ability to prepare clear reports and presentations that connect findings to recommended actions.
• Confidence presenting information and participating in discussions with leaders.
• A personable, collaborative approach and an interest in understanding the operational needs behind the numbers.
• Sound judgment and the ability to translate workforce information into practical staffing recommendations.
