Our part-time staff have the opportunity every day to be challenged, learn new technologies, help customers and co-workers with questions, and interact with professional colleagues in a diverse and high-energy work environment.
Part-time Help Desk Specialists will have the opportunity to perform classroom technology support, troubleshoot hardware and workstation problems, learn and test new applications and AV systems, and are exposed to many of the different technologies at Penn State University.
As a Help Desk Specialist, you will have the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of tasks, including answering questions over the phone and helping walk-in’s that visit the Help Desk in-person with all their computer needs, in addition to supporting AV for some conferencing events. Our IT team will train you in the various areas that we support and will provide you with practical knowledge and professional development. In return, we ask that you bring your knowledge, experience, ideas as well as your customer service, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to help us provide the best technology support possible.
Candidates for these openings should be energetic and enthusiastic about working on and learning about computer and AV technologies.
