Der Bereich Project Finance (PF) ist auf die Strukturierung, Arrangierung und Distribution besicherter Finanzierungen mit Non-Recourse- und Limited-Recourse-Strukturen spezialisiert. PF ist ein integraler Bestandteil der Trade Finance and Lending (TFL)-Plattform innerhalb der Corporate Bank und bedient einen vielfältigen Kundenstamm, der Unternehmen, Finanzinstitute, institutionelle Investoren und Einrichtungen des öffentlichen Sektors umfasst.

Mit Teams in Frankfurt, London, Singapur und New York betreibt PF eine globale Plattform, die den Finanzierungsbedarf von Kunden in den wichtigsten Infrastruktur- und Energiemärkten unterstützt. Das Frankfurter Team sucht einen erfahrenen Project-Finance-Spezialisten zur Unterstützung des weiteren Wachstums des EMEA-Geschäfts.

Als Director im Project-Finance-Team verantwortest du die Anbahnung und Umsetzung komplexer Projektfinanzierungstransaktionen. Dabei arbeitest du eng mit den Bereichen Structuring, Syndication, Coverage und Risk Management zusammen und leistest einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur strategischen Weiterentwicklung und zum Wachstum der Frankfurter Plattform.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Du verantwortest die Akquisition, Strukturierung, Arrangierung und Umsetzung von Finanzierungen in verschiedenen Energie- und Infrastruktursektoren und analysierst deren Wirtschaftlichkeit, Risikoprofil und Profitabilität.
• Du steuerst Due-Diligence-Prozesse, führst technische und kommerzielle Bewertungen durch, analysierst Branchenentwicklungen und entwickelst geeignete Risikominderungsstrategien. Zudem strukturierst du Finanzierungslösungen, verantwortest die Cashflow-Modellierung und Sensitivitätsanalysen und verhandelst Finanzierungskonditionen sowie komplexe Finanzierungsdokumentationen.
• Du führst interne Genehmigungsprozesse und koordinierst die Zusammenarbeit mit Risiko-, Rechts-, Syndizierungs-, Operations- und weiteren relevanten Funktionen sowie mit dem regionalen und Senior Management.
• Du erstellst kundenorientierte Marketingunterlagen und Transaktionspräsentationen, entwickelst Finanzierungslösungen und Kapitalstrukturen und treibst das Wachstum des Project-Finance-Geschäfts aktiv voran.
• Du verantwortest das aktive Portfoliomanagement laufender Transaktionen, einschließlich Covenant-Monitoring, der Beurteilung sich entwickelnder Kreditrisiken sowie der Analyse, Strukturierung und Verhandlung kreditrelevanter Vertragsänderungen und Waiver.
• Du beobachtest kontinuierlich Trends im Infrastruktur- und Energiesektor, trägst aktiv zur Erreichung der Nachhaltigkeits- und ESG-Ziele der Deutschen Bank bei und unterstützt die fachliche Weiterentwicklung jüngerer Teammitglieder.

Ihre Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

• Mindestens 10 bis 12 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Projektfinanzierung in den Sektoren Infrastruktur, Energie und erneuerbare Energien sowie eine nachgewiesene Erfolgsbilanz in der Strukturierung und Umsetzung von Finanzierungstransaktionen.
• Umfassende Erfahrung in der Transaktionsstrukturierung, Due-Diligence, Finanzmodellierung, Kreditrisikobewertung und Risikominderung sowie in der Verhandlung von Term Sheets und komplexen Finanzierungsdokumentationen.

• Fundierte Kenntnisse der Projektfinanzierungsmärkte in der EMEA-Region mit umfassender Erfahrung sowohl bei Corporate- als auch bei sponsorgeführten Transaktionen.

• Solider bankfachlicher Hintergrund, idealerweise in den Bereichen Projektfinanzierung, Strukturierte Finanzierung oder Corporate Finance, ergänzt durch Kenntnisse der Kapitalmärkte, Rechnungslegung und Cashflow-Analyse.

• Verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse sowie hervorragende Kommunikations- und Präsentationsfähigkeiten in Wort und Schrift. Weitere europäische Sprachkenntnisse, insbesondere Deutsch, Französisch, Spanisch oder Italienisch, sind von Vorteil.

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Project Finance (PF) is an investment desk focused on originating, structuring, arranging and distributing non-recourse and limited-recourse senior secured financings across the infrastructure and energy sectors. PF is an integral part of the Trade Finance and Lending (TFL) platform within the Corporate Bank and serves a diverse client base comprising corporates, financial institutions, institutional investors and public-sector entities.

With teams located in Frankfurt, London, Singapore and New York, PF operates a global platform supporting the financing needs of clients across key infrastructure and energy markets. The Frankfurt team is seeking an experienced project finance professional to support the continued growth of the EMEA franchise.

As a Director in the Project Finance team, you will lead the origination and execution of complex project finance transactions, work closely with colleagues across Structuring, Syndication, Coverage and Risk Management, and contribute to the strategic development and growth of the Frankfurt platform.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the origination, evaluation and execution of a pipeline of energy and infrastructure finance transactions, assessing commercial viability, risk profile and profitability across opportunities sourced through a variety of origination channels.

• Manage all aspects of transaction due diligence, including technical and commercial assessment, industry analysis and the development of appropriate risk mitigation strategies, and lead the structuring of financing solutions, oversee cash flow modelling and sensitivity analysis, and negotiate financing term sheets and loan documentation to deliver bankable transaction structures.

• Lead internal approval processes and stakeholder management across Credit Risk, Legal, Coverage, Syndication, Operations teams and other control functions, as well as regional and senior management.

• Drive the preparation of client marketing materials and transaction presentations, develop innovative financing solutions and capital structures, and support the continued growth of the Project Finance franchise.

• Manage transactions throughout their lifecycle, including covenant compliance monitoring, the assessment of evolving credit risks, and the evaluation and negotiation of credit-relevant amendments and waivers requests.

• Monitor trends across the infrastructure and energy sectors, contribute to Deutsche Bank's sustainability and ESG objectives, and provide coaching and mentorship to junior members of the team.

Your skills and experiences

• 10-12+ years of project finance experience across infrastructure, energy and renewable sectors, including a proven track record in originating and executing financing transactions.

• Extensive experience in transaction structuring, due diligence, financial modelling, credit risk assessment and mitigation, and the negotiation of term sheets and finance documentation.

• Strong knowledge of project finance markets across the EMEA region, with exposure to both corporate and sponsor-backed transactions.

• Solid background in banking, preferably within project finance, structured finance or corporate finance, supported by strong capital markets, accounting and cash-flow analysis expertise.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage senior management, clients and stakeholders; additional European languages, particularly German, French, Spanish or Italian, would be advantageous.
